Braxmere Lodge

Lovely location on the lake. Very peaceful. Unit was large and had a good kitchen. Laundry facilities were convenient. Close to all the shops etc in Turangi. Great restaurant next door which was an added bonus. No need to drive into town for dinner

Just wow! We hired all 10 cabins for 10 families for 4 nights. Had the most brilliant time. The amenities were perfect , the setting is magical. We took our boats and water toys, swam in the lack everyday. Any hiccups resolved super fast , staff fantastic. So much to do there, we’ll be back. Need a car, we self catered , Turangi 5 mins drive.

Our family has created wondeful traditions and shared memories coming to Braxmere each Summer. The proximity to the water, the gentle sloping lawn perfect for picnics and cartwheels, the beautifully appointed apartments with the best BIG showers all make for an easy and comfortable stay. The location makes it special, enabling morning SUPs to the waterfall, afternoons spent biscuiting and evenings fishing. Our whole family is happy and relaxed, and already looking forward to our next Braxmere retreat!

Braxmere Lodge is located at the south east point of lake Taupo. Nestled at the foot of hills providing protection from prevailing winds. With a boat ramp on site there is no excuse not to get on the lake for some water skiing fishing or exploring on the beautiful lake. Given the lodge is right on the lake front you also have easy access for swimming, kayaking or other water based activities. A beautiful and large lawn laps up to the lakes edge providing plenty of room for picnics or to simply sit and take in the breathtaking vista. At Braxmere you are away from the hustle and bustle but only a 8 minute drive to the amenities in Turangi. A perfect location to actively or passively relax. The rooms are modern, clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff are friendly and there is restaurant onsite if you want a night off cooking. Thoroughly recommend Braxmere - you can’t go wrong.

Gorgeous location and views, peaceful and private, immaculately kept and fitted , delighted from start to finish. Stayed for two nights but wish we’d had more. All we needed to self cater was there and a cheap laundry room . But you will need to self cater, only fast junk food for miles.

Its hard to find a place to stay that is as nice as Braxmere, in their part of the world. Amazing views from every bedroom delivered fabulous morning sunrises for the three days we were there. Checking in was easy with the key left in a lock box at the door. The rooms are tidy and adequately appointed with a king bed, comfortable sofa, outdoor table and a huge shower. Occasional water shortages were a small problem that was quickly rectified. The restaurant was adequate. The staff were always happy to hep.
