Kethaka Aga

Very nice hotel what a little gem we stayed here whilst touring around sri lanka it was very close to Yala national park hence why we chose this hotel very nicely decorated spotlessly clean owners couldn't do enough to please you they were up waiting at 4.30am to present a packed breakfast for our early morning safari overall very pleased

Firstly I'd like to say that the room, hotel, grounds and surrounding area are lovely. The room is huge, nicely decorated and blooming lovely. The rest of the hotel has a very warm, welcoming and cosy feel to it. I wasn't able to try the hotels breakfast as I left early the next day for the safari that the hotel had organised for me. There's parking, aircon in the rooms. But it's safe to say that the pictures don't do the place justice. hmmm... the negative. There's a few little things that stopped the place being fantastic. When I turned up I was greeted by two of the hotels assistants. Suffice to say that their greeting was a bit frosty. The complete polar opposite as to what I'd experienced at the other hotels I'd stayed in around Sri Lanka. They looked at me as if I was going to rob the place. So, before going to my room I order from the menu what I'd like for dinner and then say three times and pointed to the menu, that I'd like a coffee. It never came. No biggy, but it's the little things. Next, prior to my stay, I got in contact with the hotel about a Safari. Twice the hotel confirmed the price. Low and behold, when I get to the hotel I'm told that the price i was told was in correct. Of course the price was more expensive. It's silly it's never cheaper is it haha. So again this leaves a bitter taste in the mouth, because it's not like the hotel doesn't sort these tours on a regular basis. Lastly, it would have been nice to swim in the pool if it wasn't turning green.

What an amazing place. The views are incredible, so are the rooms. The staff are incredibly friendly, humble and accommodating. This place also offers driver accommodation on site which is so nice. If you like peace and quiet with wonderful views and wildlife then this place is for you.

Our stay at Kethaka aga Tissamaharama was very comfortable and nice. It’s situated near a beautiful paddy field ( that’s how it got the name as “Kethaka Aga”), so you can have fresh air directly from the paddy when you sit at the lobby, dining area and the poolside. It’s very reasonable in price to have such a place with beautiful architecture. Our room and the bathroom was quite large, comfy and very neatly maintained. We were woke up by getting a healthy and yummy millet porridge with some jaggery. Trust me that was the delicious millet porridge I’ve tried so far. There were many options to try on our breakfast which were so tasty. Special thanks to Mr. Saman who was the manager, Anura and Ashan for taking good care of us. We’d like to recommend this hidden gem in Tissamaharama to those who are looking for a hotel which is pocket friendly yet quite worth the money you pay. We can assure you a comfortable stay with our recent experience.

Wonderful staff, food and accommodations! Staff went above and beyond to accommodate our special needs. Amazing holiday! Highly recommend. Pool is refreshing and clean with lots to see nearby. We hope to be back again!
