Our stay was absolutely magic. The location is stunning. The beaches are pristine and water is clear and warm. There are activities for everyone: golf course, games room, pool tables, swimming, scuba, snorkeling, fishing and more. We took advantage of the great conditions for snorkeling and managed to see young sharks and turtles. The garden chalets are clean and comfortable with air conditioning and the grounds are beautifully maintained. Most activities are within waking distance but they have open carts to transfer you around the resort if you so choose. Transfers to/from Tekek jetty are also included. All the staff went above and beyond to assist us during our stay. Thank you Adriana and everyone at Berjaya Tioman Resort for a once in a lifetime trip.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe environment and service are good, but the transportation is inconvenient. It is recommended to take the elderly and children on vacation. If you come to dive, I recommend Paya Port. Note that there are no roads to the villages on the island, so you can only take the ferry, and the boat taxi is not cheap. From November to March, due to strong winds, the shallow shops are closed, but you can come to learn surfing 🏄
GGuest UserJapamala is a resort that I love so much that I am afraid to write a review for fear that more people will know about it and I won't be able to book it. Distinctive style design, private beach, wooden villas (large and comfortable enough), essential oil spa, barbecue, snorkeling; great breakfast; I have to mention that the staff from top to bottom are very friendly and polite. I came here with my friends for three days and two nights, and I will bring my family back. I recommend staying for 4-6 days to really enjoy the slow life.
YYogeeY@mStayed 5 days. Staff service is friendly and warm. Their rates for island hopping and snorkelling trips are the best so there is no need to look elsewhere. The standard rooms at the pond areas are surrounded by monitor lizards, great for those who want to get up close and personal co living with the dragons. Else, the rooms near the beach and pool are great options. Swimming pool needs more constant cleaning as the water is murky. Buffet breakfast has good choices but is repetitive if u stay for more than 2 nights.
GGuest UserI booked a three-person room with two bathrooms, which is very suitable for family outings. The Chinese restaurant in the hotel tastes good. In the evening, there is seafood barbecue. I am very happy to watch the sunset with the sea breeze. I signed up for the hotel's snorkeling project, and went to three points in the sea. The sea water is clear, there are beautiful corals and small fish, and I had a lot of fun. You can search the official website of Mersing, buy a round-trip ferry ticket in advance, from Mersing to Paya Jetty, and you will arrive at the hotel in a minute after getting off the boat. It takes about two hours by boat, and we need to arrive at the pier one hour in advance. We chartered a car from Johor Bahru to Mersing, and it takes two hours to drive.
DDaniel RhysWe stayed in a lovely cosy cottage. They were recent developments as of May 2025 and were to a good standard.
The breakfast was good, as were their evening meals offered on the beach balcony. I can also recommend booking Mama’s Foodhouse next door as their food was delicious.
