Very dirty, pools unusable. Toilets have no water. Shower cold. Air condition does not work. No glass or cups in the room. Reception Takes Note of the Complaints, but they do nothing. Breakfast inadequate. No Black Tea. I'll be glad when we leave again.

This Hotel is not as bad as some of the recent reviews say. Yes the buildings are a bit run down, but the setting is beautiful and peaceful and the restaurant is romantic. Our Standard King room had hot water, good a-c, a balcony and a comfortable bed.

This place has great potential, I can only assume the covid scamdemic took its toll here. Every part of this place is in need of repair and maintenance. The pools are cracking and falling apart. Poolside furnishings are rotting and dangerous. Our room 303 would lock but not secure. No TV, wifi, phone, refrigerator or anything in the room. We had to take chairs from the neighboring rooms balcony. The ceiling in the closet was moldy and rotted away from an old AC leak. I had to clean the showerhead so that it would work. The toilet seat was not even connected. We felt bad for the staff because you could tell they tried hard to do the best with what they had. This place has huge potential if someone takes it over and sinks some money into it. If not I am afraid it will not be around much longer.

I stayed at Hotel Okaan for two nights and absolutely loved every minute of my stay. I had a 3 day business trip in Cancun and knew I wanted to see Chichen Itza, and find some time to relax, at the end of those 3 days. I read a TON of reviews of other hotels in Cancun, Tulum and the Piste area outside Chichen Itza before settling on Hotel Okaan. I wanted a place to unplug and unwind and this location was perfect. My cabana was lovely and inviting. I slept well each night (the bed was firmer than I was expecting, but was still very comfortable.) The restaurant serves what I would describe as "Home Cooked" food. This isn't a 5 star restaurant with stunning menu items, however, it was still very good food and cocktails at fair prices when compared to where I stayed in Cancun (Canopy at La Isla, a Hilton Hotel). I had a relaxing massage and spent a lot of time in a hammock in the pool. I would choose to stay at Okaan if I come back to Mexico because it was by far the most peaceful place I stayed at during my entire trip. I fell asleep to the sounds of frogs and cicadas, and woke to the sound of birds each morning. I rented a car in Cancun and drove myself to the hotel, and to Chichen Itza. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Be forewarned, the wifi only functions in the office and the restaurant, so if you're planning on working during your visit this might not be the place for you. However, if you want to truly unplug and enjoy a relaxing time in the Yucatan, this is the best place.

I got what I wished for!!! Love that the hotel was closed to Chichen and fortunately for me, not too many people were in the hotel that day. I got there late, but I was helped by the manager to get into my room, jungle style resort. LOVE IT. It was pitch dark and I can only hear nature, night and day, birds singing, something that I have never experienced before. I was disconnected from the outside world. Loved the Room, loved the restaurant, loved the whole thing. I am referring friends and family in case they are going that direction. My only bad experience was that I lost my white/black diamonds ring. I must have dropped it on my way to my car, and because my room was at the end of the resort, I had to walk for about through the whole premises in the jungle, and I never found it :( Other than that, Facilities, Staff, Room and Hotel was great!!!! Loved the Mirador.

This is a difficult one to review. The good: the setting is in the jungle - phenomenal. The staff is very nice & helpful. The not-so-good: the setting is in the jungle. Meals are mediocre & overpriced. We did not have hot water; internet was down & we had to settle the bill in cash. Did not know if these were because we were in the jungle or because there were mechanical problems. Certainly, given the options that seemed possible in the Chichén Itzá surroundings, this seemed quite a desirable option.

My fiancé and I winged it as we usually do and did not make any reservations ahead of time and were looking for a place to stay once we arrived to Chichen Itza. My fiancé stumbled upon this gem and decided to stay there and man, all I can say is we are blessed to have had the pleasure to experience hotel Okaan! Our drive took way longer than expected and got there really late and were still accommodated with a room. We were even luckier that it was damn near empty the night we stayed there and there was a ***** eclipse that night which was indescribable (I cant make this up). We were lucky enough to score some Mexican ***** the town over and enjoyed the eclipse to the fullest, laying down at the poolside! This place is majestic and I just hope one day I will be lucky enough to stay here again.

My hubbie wanted our kids to see Chichen Itza so instead of spending 13 hours with a tour we rented a car in Cancun and just drove ourselves. I thought Hotel Okaan looked pretty neat from the photos and it had good reviews and a short drive to Chichen Itza. We got there later than we wanted to but they were very accomodating. We were starving so immediately headed to the onsite restaurant. It was AMAZING! All the food was really good, the mojitos were so refreshing, rooms were clean. I actually enjoyed our one night stay better than the Moon Palace. No TV, not much internet just relaxing and quiet. My teenagers wouldn't want to spend a week there but I could just relaxing by the pool. Highly recommend and hoping one day I will make it back for a longer stay.
