Came for dinner, very friendly and welcoming hosts. Lovely bar area and well stocked. Home made food was delicious and well presented. Spinach & Mushroom Lasagne was very tasty. Nice views and walk by the River Wye. When in the area again will definitely return.

Wasn't sure whether to post a review on the restaurant or on the hotel tripadvisor listings, but it was so good I'll do both. We didn't stay, just had a drink (exquisite local ale) outside, and then a meal in the restaurant. We found immaculate traditional surroundings, with a great welcome and service from the friendly family. We honestly haven't dined out as well as this for years, as most other places are the victim of food trends or silly menus. Great vegetarian options too. I hope it never changes. Thanks

Stayed here for a couple of nights for a quiet weekend break. Was very happy with our choice. This is a very pleasant place to stay, about a 10 minute walk from the main Tintern village. Room was smallish but well equipped with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, making a great start to the day. We also ate in the hotel each night. The food was freshly cooked and very enjoyable. I can also highly commend the well kept beer from the Wye Valley Brewery. The only small downside is the road outside can be a bit noisy, but this was more of a factor during the daytime. We didn't notice any noise at night. We would happily stay here again.

We recently enjoyed a pleasant stay at the Wye Valley Hotel. Despite arriving a little early, the staff were incredibly accommodating and checked us in without any hassle. Customer service is truly at the heart of this business, and we were warmly welcomed with a friendly smile. Our room was spotless and very comfortable, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay. In the evening, we dined in the charming bar, where the food lived up to the glowing reviews—especially the much-praised fish and chips, which we can confirm were absolutely delicious! Breakfast in the restaurant was also excellent, with a high standard of food and plenty of options to suit all tastes. The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful Wye Valley, making it an ideal base for walkers and sightseers. We had such a great experience that we will most definitely return in the near future!

The hotel is situated in a lovely spot just outside the village of Tintern. It’s next to the road but we experienced no traffic noise at all during the night. The beautiful Abbey is in easy walking distance and there are numerous walking trails which, sadly, I didn’t have time to experience. We had a nice welcome from the owners. Our room was very comfortable and absolutely spotless. We ate in the cosy bar for dinner and the legendary fish and chips did not disappoint! I would definitely return to stay here as I loved the area and there is lots to see. I don’t raise this as a fault but the only thing that some people may need to be aware of is that the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep which may be an issue for those with mobility problems. I don’t think there is a lift. Overall, we really enjoyed our very short stay so thank you, Barry and Sue and hope to see you again soon!

Stayed recently for a business trip, we were made so welcome by Barry and Sue the owners. Nice rooms kept spotlessly clean. Evening meals and breakfast are home cooked using great quality produce. Nice friendly bar serving good beer. Highly recommended if ever in the area!

Welcoming, clean, comfy well run family hotel. Ideal base for visiting family and experiencing the local area. Breakfast selection is good, with local ingredients adding to the quality. Sorry to say we only had one evening meal due to our itinerary. But it was worth the wait, especially the Ginger Torte. If that is the caliber of the desserts it’s worth the 2 hour drive just for them. Definitely a place to put on your visit list.

A lovely stay. We had 2 rooms, a twin and a double, that had a lovely lounge as well. We had been to the races, and booked taxis to and from. We had dinner here which was lovely, and a fabulous cooked breakfast. Very quaint village, really scenic.
