I have just returned from a week in Langley Tignes 2100 and having read the reviews from this season was travelling in some trepidation of what we were going to. Ineed not have worried. This is a 'budget' hotel (remember you are in a ski resort at 2100m in France, nothing is cheap!) rather than top end, so if you are looking for something 'special', pay twice as much and go to somewhere like Les Campanules (I have also previously stayed there). Reception - couldn't be more helpful. Across the board from beginning to end all staff in the hotel were exceptional. Room - It is very small. You are not gettin gmore space than you need here, but it's fine. Comments about the shower leaking - put a hand towel/bath mat down and it solves the problem. yes it's a bit of a design flaw, but easily solved. Boot Room - It is small and doesn't have lockers. You put your boots on in the hotel lobby. Despite arriving and thinking that this was going to be an absolute shambles, somehow it works and we didn't have an issue at all. Ski Hire - It's in the hotel. How easy is that?! Are they the best ski's I've ever had, probably not, but at my level (red to black), I don't care. Location - It's a 5 minute walk, tops, to the main lift. Frankly not quite as good as ski in/ski out, but not kicking the backside off of it. Restaurant - People have been complaining about quality and service. I just don't get it (and I am a foodie). We never had to wait for a table and we were never rushed out of it. We had the half board option and it was excellent. 3 courses and two options for each course, plus the option of either a margerita or pizza of the day. Could the food be hotter, possibly. Not something that caused us an issue, but I was aware of other people havving this problem. To be honest what they need to do is swap out the overhead lights on the kitchen for halogen lamps and the problem would be solved. For us, we found the options to be excellent and the quality to be very good indeed. The breakfast was fine if not the most exciting, but the fact that they put one on at 4:30am for people leaving early on the Saturday morning was a bit of service above and beyond. Bar - really friendly servce and good options for drink. We particularly enjoyed the Thursday night DJ set sitting on the terrace after a day on the slopes. The thing that makes this hotel really great is the staff. They are without exception incredibly friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs and the life they have out there. Would I go back? Absolutely with friends and despite the fact that my wife and I tend to go a bit more 'up-market' I wouldn't hesitate to go here with her too, we'd have a great time. Don't worry about the cr#p reviews would be my advice.
