I had a very positive experience at Vacancéole - Le Borsat IV. From the moment I arrived, the reception staff were polite and helpful — they explained where to find the ski lifts, shops, tobacco stores, and bars. Other hotel staff were also friendly and responsible. The location is perfect — just a few steps from the TUF lift, accessible through the ski locker room. From there, you can ski down to other lifts (Bollin, Tichot) and take the funicular to Grande Motte. The balcony of my apartment had a beautiful view of Val Claret, the TUF lift, and the Avant Garde bar. The apartment itself was well-equipped: a kitchen with all the necessary dishes and appliances — coffee maker, toaster, electric kettle, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, and a four-burner stove. There’s a separate toilet and bathroom, which includes a full bathtub — great for relaxing after skiing — a towel dryer, and a large mirror. There’s also another big mirror in the main room. There’s a large wardrobe and sleeping arrangements for up to 4 people. Since I was staying alone, I could choose the most comfortable pillow — there were 4 sets of pillows and duvets. And finally — the price! I stayed for 4 nights during the end of the season (April 29 to May 3), and it was very affordable. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay. The standards correspond to the price, however, the location is above everything else. You ski directly to bottom of Grande Motte funicular, which means you are the first at the top of the mountain.

My stay at Vacanceole - Le Borsat IV in Val Claret in Tignes, France, was nothing short of a nightmare. The abysmal service began with the receptionist, who left me and my friends shivering in the freezing night because we failed to make an unnecessary call for our check-in, despite multiple messages notifying them of our delayed arrival. In this day and age, requiring an international call for such matters is absurd. The receptionist's attitude made every interaction needlessly difficult, and the overall service and experience were appalling. While the apartment's structure was acceptable, the entire place was filthy, with a repugnant odor lingering throughout. Adding insult to injury, we were compelled to purchase basic amenities like bed sheets and towels. The lack of empathy from the staff was evident, as even after my friend's attempts to call went unanswered, no apologies were offered for the ordeal we endured. One star is too generous for this establishment, with the only positive aspect being its location – a meager consolation considering the overall experience. I caution future guests against choosing this accommodation, as the savings are not worth the sleepless nights and utter lack of support. My recommendation is unequivocal: look elsewhere for a more accommodating and customer-centric place to stay.

Our experience at the hotel was incredibly disappointing. After a full day of travel, we arrived past 11 pm only to find no one available to assist us with checking into our rooms, despite numerous attempts to contact them by phone. Forced to endure negative temperatures, we ended up sleeping on the reception floor until 8 am when the receptionist finally arrived. Instead of offering an apology, she shockingly began screaming at us, displaying a sarcastic, rude, and unhelpful attitude. Adding to our frustration, we were required to pay a 300 euro deposit for each room, a fee the staff seemed intent on retaining by any means necessary. Suppressing our complaints about the harrowing treatment, we endured further aggression from the receptionist just to gain access to our rooms. To our dismay, the nightmare continued as we discovered the room was excessively dirty, lacking bed sheets (available at an additional cost of 50 euros for stained and dirty sheets). The window had a gap, allowing cold air to permeate the room, and the heating system was barely functional, leaving us without sufficient duvets. The broken fridge with a malfunctioning door, unclean toilets, and the absence of towels or toilet paper further exacerbated our ordeal. Adding insult to injury, the only provisions left in the room were cleaning products, a cruel reminder that guests were expected to fully deep clean the apartment upon checkout. Failure to meet their standards risked losing the deposit or facing additional charges for missing items in the rooms. In light of our dreadful experience, I strongly advise against choosing this accommodation, even if it appears to be the only option available. Our encounter was nothing short of a nightmare, and based on conversations with fellow guests during our stay, it seems our experience was not unique. I can assure you, this is an establishment I would never consider returning to.

Well, what can I say… the town itself is beautiful and full of nightlife etc, the rooms are clean but small but I guess you get what you pay for. The reason for the very low stars is because of the receptionist plane and simple. She is absolutely the worst. Her nick name was ‘Mrs trunchbowl’ She was rude, aggressive and not a nice person She made numerous people sleep in the lobby with no one to phone or access to get keys to their room. If you go there outside of check in hours she is not interested. Luckily our agent told us that we need to phone and give $300 deposit over the phone and she then gave me the safe key and our key was in there. There was many who was unfortunate not to and came across a lot of people sleeping in the lobby Even if she tuned up out of check in times and can blatantly see you there she will ignore you and tell you to come back at 5 and check in We tried to speak to her to ask her something one night and she did not even want to speak to us, to the point one of my colleagues asked if there was a fire would you speak to us? She came storming out and shouted very aggressively as we were leaving to go out My advice is pay the extra and DO NOT book here Our first and last time at this place I dread to think how much they are going to take off our deposit - expecting us to do a full deep clean before we leave…. We left at 3am are they real??

1 star is generous. Literally anything you could review is as bad as it could be. The reception staff are horrible and rude, they said they cannot be bothered to help thinking we couldn’t speak French. Rooms are dirty, items are missing which they will charge you obscene amounts to replace, sheets have bed bug stains, the duvet covers provided have no inside, you are expected to wrap them up in a single layer cover with nothing holding the duvet in, rooms are dirty, there are literal bouncers patrolling corridors telling you to be quiet even if you are speaking in low volume, they provided us one key for a 4 person room, beds are uncomfortable, freezer was broken which they charged us for, and there is absolutely nothing good I can say about this place. 0/10 (-1/10 but location brings it to 0/10) Just take a look at the ridiculous cleaning expectations they have as provided in photo, despite a 3 hour delay in giving us the room, forcing us to wait 3 hours outside in the cold (yes they didn’t even let us wait in reception). I can guarantee no cleaning was done in this time, as you have to put on sheets, bin bags, etc all yourself and room was still dirty on arrival

The apartment is well located for ski in and out, lifts are very close to the property. The room is a good size, the facilities in the room are good for self catering. It was nice to have a balcony with a view of the slopes. The car park is 15 euros per day and is underground with plenty of spaces. There is a lovely bakery next door and a great pizza place across the street. Out of reception hours key pickup is possible but you need to phone after booking to leave a deposit. The shower could've been more powerful, on arrival the place was alive with parties in other rooms but this did quieten down at midnight, to be expected I guess in Tignes. The two sofa beds are ok to sleep on. The heating in the room is a little random as you turn it on and then it randomly turns itself off. There are constant reminders around the property and the room to clean the whole apartment before you leave, its mentioned numerous times you will be charged 100 euros if its not up to par when you leave.

The standard is not what is pictured. The staff notably the larger one was incredibly rude at every interaction. The furniture and finish is tired and old. When it came to check out they scrutinised the standard of cleaning incredibly harshly in order to charge a cleaning fee. It is also my believe that they charge the cleaning fee but then actually don’t conduct any sort of cleaning. There are numerous stains on walls furniture and kitchenette. All in all a very unpleasant experience.
