蘇格蘭偏遠地區的海濱酒店,寧靜祥和,可以脱離塵世的喧囂。純正蘇格蘭風味料理。酒店雖小,員工熱情開朗,蘇格蘭style房間温馨舒適,適合慢慢品味。

Stayed here at the end of day 1 on the Loch Lomond and Cowal Way long distance walk. My room was lovely - one of the front ones looking over the bay and the room itself was absolutely fine, well equipped and with a comfy bed. Goof food in the restaurant with a good few fishy options which were well cooked and presented. Breakfast was equally good with plenty of options featuring ultra fresh eggs from the hens that you could see running about outside the breakfast room! Overall, no issues and would recommend and return.

We had a brilliant stay at the Kames Hotel, the room was clean, comfortable and had the best view of any place we've ever stayed. The food was wonderful (thank you Scott), and Irene, the Landlady, was so hardworking, nothing was any trouble and she had such a great personality she made our stay extremely memorable.

We booked a table for 7.30pm and then had to wait 15/20 mins before an order for a drink was taken. Following ordering our meal we waited 75 mins before our first course arrived. I approached the server when no food had arrived within 30 mins to ask for some bread while we waited but then had to ask again as it had not arrived 20 mins later( charging us £7.50 for bread). There was no acknowledgment from the staff that we had to wait so long and the whole experience was not pleasant. I had booked for a family dinner in a few weeks but this experience has made me consider cancelling. The lack of customer care is disappointing.

Fabulous Views and great Atmosphere. We spent a brilliant Sunday afternoon sitting in the sun, outside, watching the world sail by. The staff were super nice and helpful so we decided to come back and have an evening meal. Food was very good, well presented and lots of local choice. (We watched their hens laying eggs on the Sunday afternoon so we knew they were as fresh as they could possibly be11) The owners were on site and chatted away and are, quite rightly so, very proud of their hotel and what they have achieved. The staff were also proud of their workplace and were well informed of the locality. Next time we visit the area we will definately book into the Kames Hotel

6 of us eat on Thursday night - some of the food was good, like the langoustines, but the grilled octopus and squid dishes were very poor. It’s not cheap - £7.50 for a bread roll, left a poor impression. It’s popular, but probably because there is little alternative.

Location - stunning, but make sure you get a room at the front of hotel. Room was spacious with plenty of storage unlike places like premier inn, Travel Lodge. Bed was very comfy. Only criticism was the shower room was a bit tired looking. Breakfast was excellent, all freshly cooked. Evening meals - menu a bit fish oriented but portions are very generous. Don't get a prawn cocktail - nearly £10 for prawns dumped on some greenery. Very poorly presented albeit tasty. Staff are all excellent and very friendly. Take a trip over on ferry to Bute, a great day out

Hotel is situated with great views to Bute. The room was clean and comfortable with a large bathroom which did not have a shower. There was a bath with a shower head but no shower curtain. Lack of shower at that price is not good. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very good with an interesting menu. Breakfast was very good with a good choice. The bar was well stocked and even had some real ale. On the negative side, we went because of the hotels situation and its traditional bar. Unfortunately the bar area had been refurbished. All the old fittings had been removed to be replaced by bland decor and modern furniture, quite characterless. Had the weather been such that you had to sit inside it would mot have been a comfortable place to be. IMHO modernising the place has ruined it. Obviously the money is now in food but tearing out the old bar was a mistake. If your only coming in for a meal it's not an issue but if your staying you don't actually have a comfortable bar to sit in. Enjoyed my stay but was disappointed and unlikely to be back.

A stay of two halves. The location is superb, brilliantly situated by the water with views to die for, and easy cycle and waking distance to amenities in the locals villages (although pays to check openings on social media as we often found things to be closed outside of the weekend). The staff are the highlight of this hotel. Working extremely hard and remaining upbeat and friendly. We stayed in two standard garden view double rooms over our 4 nights , and sadly these rooms could not have been more different. The first room for 3 nights was top floor attic space. We were quite disappointed with the overall condition and appearance of the room. Paintwork requiring maintenance, chipped bedroom furniture, and a dated bathroom. A low bed which was not very comfortable. The second room was a huge step up, despite the same room fate. Appearance and facilities in much better condition, with a more comfortable bed, and a refurbished bathroom. To have been charged the same room was hugely disappointing. Both had issues with the shower water - from scalding hot to cold to switching off entirely. We also found the food to be very variable from acceptable to poorly cooked, but at premium prices (as one would expect for this area and being in prime tourist season). We had such high hopes for the stay but probably wouldn’t advise staying if we couldn’t be guaranteed of the better bedrooms and would likely fine elsewhere. This feels very sad to write this given how wonderful the staff were and the location is.
