James Joyce Coffetel Hotel (Tianshui South Station Qiaonan International Shopping Center)

Many hotels don't allow dogs to travel with them, but this one just opened not long ago, with a good environment, new facilities, and a comfortable stay.

Located in Maiji District, very close to Tianshui Station, it has its own parking lot, making parking very convenient. Restaurants are also nearby. The room was neat and clean. However, for some reason, I only received drip coffee for one of the two nights I booked.

Tianshui is a truly surprising city, especially for someone like me who comes from a hot city. The temperature is incredibly comfortable. The receptionist at the James Joyce Coffetel (Tianshui South Station Qiaonan International Shopping Center) was as pleasant as the weather itself. We were traveling from southern China and passing through Tianshui on our way back from Gannan on a road trip. We stayed at over ten hotels along the way, but James Joyce Coffetel was the only one that confirmed my itinerary in advance, asking when I would check in and letting me know that parking might be tight if I arrived late. This advance check-in was incredibly reassuring, knowing someone was paying attention, knew my itinerary, and had already reserved a room for me. It was around 7 or 8 PM when we returned to the hotel from the Maijishan Grottoes. We quickly found the hotel parking lot and checked in smoothly. Parking is convenient, with a back door leading directly to the front desk. Upon entering the reception area, the retro American-style decor struck me as appealing. The receptionist handed us two cups of coffee and quickly checked us in, instantly dispelling the day's fatigue. What surprised me even more was how pet-friendly the hotel is. There's no pet-friendly fee or deposit required, and they truly trusted their guests throughout the entire stay. As someone traveling with a dog, I knew that not allowing them to use the bed, sofa, or hotel utensils, or urinate or defecate anywhere, a testament to our respect for all hotels. The hotel's decor is also American retro, which perfectly suits my taste. I loved the bathroom's makeup mirror and the room's switches. It was clean, and the amenities were comprehensive. My only complaint was that the nightlight wasn't sensor-activated and stayed on all night. I hope it can be improved to a sensor-activated one. The water pressure in the shower was too strong, making it a little uncomfortable to shower. Finally, I have to say that James Joyce Café was the top hotel on my trip. I didn't try the buffet because I was in a hurry, so I can't comment on it. However, I'd definitely stay here again. James Joyce Café is a must-try hotel on my future trips.

The hotel has a retro American styling, with mechanical controls for the lights and curtains, consistent with the design. It also features voice control via Xiaodu. The hotel has its own parking lot, but spaces are limited. If there are not enough, you'll need to park in another lot 500 meters away. The hotel's amenities were generally good. The shower was powerful, but there was no place to put clothes and towels in the shower. The shower was directly outside the common area, which was inconvenient, so I had to put a basket in a corner of the bathroom. Here are some minor complaints: I booked a family suite for three people, but only two sets of toothbrushes were provided. I stayed for two consecutive days, but at 7 PM on the second day, they called to say we were extending our stay, so the room hadn't been cleaned. They asked if I wanted it. Since I was already leaving, I just asked them to pick up the trash. But isn't room cleaning a standard hotel service? Why would I even ask? Furthermore, I booked two days at once, so it wasn't an extension. This was my first time staying at Zhefei, and I'm not sure if this is the norm. Overall, I was quite surprised; I've never encountered this before in my many hotels. Also, one day before I left, a staff member asked if I could leave a good review and sent her a screenshot. I hadn't even left yet... Of course, the front desk staff were very friendly and would greet guests whenever they saw them. Aside from the room service, everything else was quite satisfactory.

The hotel boasts a vintage and elegant decor, is clean, safe, and conveniently located, with direct bus links to major attractions and commercial areas. It's located near the Wei River, offering beautiful evening strolls. Dining options are convenient, especially near the Linshui Road morning market, where you can enjoy local delicacies. The hotel's theme is coffee, so they offer drip coffee and a hand-poured kettle. I appreciate the attention to detail.

I was pleasantly surprised! The room was clean, with fully automatic voice control, which was very convenient. There was also delicious welcome coffee in the lobby! High-speed internet was stable, and the room also provided complimentary premium drip coffee and tea. The location is convenient, with easy access to Tianshui South Station in just 10 minutes. I was chatting with a friend at the front desk that evening, and the receptionist even made me a complimentary glass of lemonade. It was delicious. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!
