Absolutely awful. Arrived having been advised there is parking, to find there isn’t and we would need to use a public car park which was not an option for us. Advised reception immediately, however they were not interested and advised I could not cancel. To top things off, I was told to get back to England, the small island and not to venture outside of it. Outdated hotel, small minded management and awful location. I really would advise to avoid and travel a little further for a much nicer hotel with friendly staff. An unfortunate blight in our otherwise amazing travels :(

Very tired hotel, more like a hostel. Decor is sparse and old. They were kind enough to let us park out front, saving us quite a bit as it was €2 for 15 mins in the big one in town. Didn’t bother with breakfast, it looked like there was only 2 or 3 items out.

The experience was as expected, not better nor worse. The pillows are really really bad and the mattress seems too old but we knew about it already. Also, the main light in the room was not working. The bed is advertised as queen but it really is two single beds. The location is super good though. We received two small bottles of water when we entered and a nice chocolate when we checked out. A nice touch, although I would have preferred better pillows than that or even cheaper prices. Overall, decent considering the price (which is expensive but kind of normal for the area). Also note that one needs to call for checking in, even when one says at what time one going to arrive since most of the times no one is at the reception.

Beautiful castle, about 10 minutes walk from the train station. Good: Clean rooms, nice location. Bad: You could tell the staff were stressed. Their choice of words was inappropriate towards guests. For example, we arrived at about 11am and just wanted to deposit our luggage before check-in at 2pm. The first comment was: You're much too early! We wanted to go to the terrace for breakfast, but the response was: NO, we're working here now. In my opinion, well-chosen wording can have a big impact on the feeling of being welcomed. Of an estimated 7 staff members, only 2 were genuinely friendly. Others were more annoyed, tired or didactic. It's a shame, it wasn't the first time here, but it will be the last. Bathroom was OK and clean, bed mattress too soft, but clean.

It is an old hotel with practically no renovations. It is comparable to some kind of mediocre hostel. The shower was broken, the breakfast was mediocre. Room is boring and small. The furniture very old and not so tasteful. The staff was very friendly.

Enjoying a cozy evening with friends over dinner was disappointing. The salad only arrived after a long wait. We had to wait 75 minutes for the main course of venison schnitzel with red cabbage and chestnuts. Three of the four fillets were only lukewarm, as was the red cabbage. I would not recommend this for a next meal.
