A very unique hotel. Big surprise. Character and history! Our room was a bit small (but ok) and initially the heater was blowing full throthle, thus converting the room in a sauna, which problem gradually resolved itself happily. We had diner in the pub below. Good hamburgers, friendly staff. A warm welcome with a glass champagne on the porch after a long day. Breakast available, could have some improvement I think but it s OK. Lovely stay, one caveat, we stayed a Saturdaynight: karaokenight in the pub below....

Champagne and lavender scented cold towel on arrival, chocolate on your pillow, very responsive staff. Bikes for rent. Stayed at well appointed cottages. Beautiful! Restaurants on site. Bikes to borrow. Gorgeous setting at Headwaters.

The Sacajawea is a charming place and the woodworking and furnishings are very pretty. It seems to be a great place for weddings and wedding parties. For our stay there, I'd have to say that it isn't in the top tier of places we've stayed--it's fairly pricey and the rooms are very small. The staff is friendly except in the bar downstairs, which is staffed with girls who probably are supplementing their income while in school. They have not yet learned the art of customer service nor do they care to. So it was a good experience overall, once. Probably wouldn't go back.

Hotel is beautiful and well kept. We stayed in the cottages just across the street. Very nice and comfortable with small kitchenette. Check-in was easy. My only complaint would be there is literally NO counter space in the bathroom. They would be smart to replace the current sink with something larger as there is space.

If you like to make your hotel stay a personalized experience instead of a corporate one, this hotel fits the bill. We felt special in every encounter with staff, and the hotel is beautiful and one-of-a-kind. Room are old-style and smaller, but we felt very comfortable. Every detail is consistently excellent. The restaurant and bar were lively and the food was good. If you are traveling through this part of Montana, it's worth your consideration.

A+ hotel and A+ experience. Sacajawea Hotel in Three Forks is an iconic hotel that embraces its cultural heritage and history. The hotel maintains its rustic feel, but boasts an amazing restaurant and bar that serves local favorites. You’ll see a lot of locals and tourists here and this hotel will not disappoint you so long as you embrace its heritage and history. The hotel staff bends over backwards to ensure you have a great stay and experience. I cannot wait to return back to the hotel and feel like a local. World class service!!!

Old, quaint hotel. Great porch for socializing. It’s old. Rooms are very small. Very little space to put your stuff. Small armoire for cloths but not large enough for dresses or pants to hang. Very dusty. Blinds and furniture desperately needed dusting. Bed was very comfortable. The hotel had a sweet, artificial smell that was unpleasant. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Not much to do in Three Forks. A few good breakfast spots. We were there for a wedding, which was very nice.

I will start by saying this is our second time staying here. We like the history of this old hotel. Lots of charm. The rooms are comfortable but nothing super special. I was most disappointed, as we wanted to try one of the new cottages across the street after our last stay a few years ago. I booked the cottage on the Sacajawea Hotel website in March. When we arrived for our stay in July, we were told that our room Would be on the 3rd floor ( no elevator) and this is what we really wanted to avoid. NOT what we booked which was a new(er) cottage on ground level. I showed my printed out reservation but was told that it was a 3rd party reservation company ( whatever that means) and there is no guarantee you will get the room You booked! I later found out that the hotel Has a special corporate Client who books halfof the rooms 3 weeks out of the month so I imagine that they probably gave my room away to one of them, As they were there at this time. Pretty disappointing. I guess if you really wanted to stay here, I would call and make reservations but who in this day and age calls to make hotel reservation???? Its a cool hotel if you like history but probably won’t stay again. They did refund the dollar difference between the 2 rooms but never offered anything else, maybe a free drink or SOMETHING? The woman at the front desk was nice and I didn’t blame her as she was just the messenger. Mediocre stay at best.

We were a little disappointed on a repeat stay at the hotel. We had made reservations months in advance requesting a cottage accommodation to avoid the three flights of steps with our baggage. On arrival, they claimed issues with third party booking thru their website and we were offered a third floor room. Rooms are nice, for this classic hotel. People were also generally nice as well but the room situation is questionable. At issue is that they have some corporate agreements, which are great for them but not so for the tourists.
