The Tempest Arms

Just had 5 wonderful days staying at the tempest Arms elslack with our 2 dogs, lovely friendly staff and excellent service, the food served, from breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellent,so much choice, highly recommend a stay here,even the locals are all friendly, all ready booked again for Christmas and next year

This was our third visit to The Tempest Arms. We came for our first, our third and our tenth wedding anniversary. Since our third in 2018 there have been some renovations and it looks amazing. We loved it before but now it is brighter and more airy. Very sophisticated. We always enjoy our stay here. Staff are always friendly and helpful if we need them. Food is always plentiful and delicious. We look forward to our next visit!!!

Visited last night on a rare child free evening. The food was superb, the chicken burger was so tasty and huge! I absolutely devoured it, even better with £5 off on Thursdays. My partner had the pork tomahawk and really enjoyed it. Lovely staff, quick service, beautiful setting and atmosphere. We haven't been for a couple of years due to a poor meal but so glad to have been back and had a great meal. Thank you Tempest.

Myself & my partner have visited many times for a weekend stay, brought my parents this time. We all had a lovely time, we reserved our favourite room - beck side 4 which is spacious and has a nice Juliette balcony, parents had the room next door- beck side 5 which is smaller, but they were comfortable and happy - love that both rooms have separate sitting area, so you don’t have to sit on the bed if you want to chill in the afternoon in front of the TV before tea. Food was generally good, great portions, really lovely staff, with a special mention for the two ladies at breakfast, so friendly, helpful and efficient. Another enjoyable stay, helped by nice weather, and I’m sure we’ll return soon - be that the two of us, or with the “oldies”!!

Did an overnight stay. Room lovely with a great view over the dales and beck by the hotel. Very clean and comfortable but would be nice to have bigger bath towels. . It was Friday night and the place is obviously popular with local people. Food was good although the chicken supreme could have benefited from more of the wilted chard and a bit less chorizo. Standard pub food with a reasonable choice. Service friendly and prices reasonable in this day and age. Decent choice of cooked breakfasts with self service for cereal and juice. Overall pleased with our stay.

Beautiful place, drinks a reasonable price but the food was not good, my partner ordered half a roast chicken, when it came it was just a thigh and a leg . I had the pork bites which I thought would be small pieces of belly pork but was sliced pork was ok but not what expected, then had the prawn starter, the prawns were tasteless , as if been defrosted under cold running water. We will visit again as a great spot but won't eat there . Sorry Tempest Arms
