We tried to have an early bird meal at the hotel. This seemed to confuse the staff. Despite ordering from the early bird menu courses came out from the normal menu. Red wine became white wine and white wine became red. When we ordered dessert they decided that this couldn’t come from the early bird menu. Needless to say the bill was a complete muddle and had to be rectified. Food was average. Staff below average,

Great hotel situated in a quiet village. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the WiFi was down (not that we were bothered) but we were given 4 free drinks to make up for the trouble. Our room was large and lovely and warm but unfortunately the heated towel rail didn’t work even though I switched it on a number of times. We ate in the restaurant and had breakfast here and all food was amazing as were the lattes. The hotel had a lovely quiet atmosphere and was very homely. Would definitely return again.

From the couple with Max the white husky 🤍 Great location and plenty of walks off the doorstep. We had a lovely 3-night stay at the Buccleugh and Queensbury Arms this weekend. Great atmosphere, service, food and and friendly chats. Everyone has been really kind and helpful from hospitality through to our room maintenance. Special thanks to Amy and Gemma who were really warm and friendly throughout our stay. They and their team had a very busy weekend and ran the place extremely well. Also shout out to the ladies who were in breakfast service this Monday morning. Just as friendly and very kind to our pal Max. Thanks everyone! Bethan, Rich & Maximus.

Just a one night stop but all very pleasant. My room had obviously been renovated in the near past, particularly the bathroom was large with a good shower. Some of the furniture was a bit dated and could do with an update. The food was absolutely fine and all staff I met were efficient and pleasant, in sum, a good place to stay.

We recently spent a lovely relaxing couple of nights in this very homely and welcoming hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, bed linen was good but the pillows a bit too soft for us. Overall, very clean. The bathroom offered a beautiful suite with an amazing deep bath and a waterfall shower. Breakfast was good and offered a nice selection of cold and hot choices. The dinner menu is very good, and the food was delicious. We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area

A lovely hotel with very friendly staff. The room we had was excellent: very spacious, well decorated and a comfortable enormous bed. Bathroom was great. It had a bath and a separate shower, the overhead outlet of which was huge and like being in a tropical rainstorm. Breakfast unfortunately was poor. Full English or Full Scottish, neither of which I would ever eat but had to try black pud and haggis. Both dripping with grease and overcooked as was the potato scone. A let down really.

A lovely stay in this traditional, comfortable hotel. A really good nights sleep. We enjoyed an excellent evening meal and well served draught beer plus a delicious plentiful breakfast. Lovely friendly, helpful staff. Would highly recommend,
