All the people at the Niraamaya retreat were exceptionally warm and welcoming. It felt like home being there. The experience at the spa and daily morning yoga sessions with guru ji was very energising and healing and helped me reset my mind and think calmly. The place and people did wonders for me mentally and physically. Hoping to visit again soon! Thank you so much for the amazing experience

We stayed in this retreat with a sea view room and I must say it's the most beautiful and gorgeous view. On arrival the ritual of welcoming the guests by the staff makes you feel so special. Everything is so natural and well maintained. Staff are so respectful and quick to attend to your needs. It has its own private beach. The restaurant inside the resort is awesome with delicious food and have a great view. If you want something to be made outside the menu, staff is always helpful to provide it for you. They customize the food accordingly. They go to great lengths, to provide you what you want. The only one drawback in the room we stayed is the open to sky bathroom. In normal weather it's great but when it rains, it's a mess in the bathroom. The floor gets all wet which I am not a fan of personally. If you are a nature lover, want great view and the best staff then go to Niraamaya Surya Samudra retreat!! But overall I will give 4.5 out of 5 rating.(I wish I could give 5 star rating, but open to sky restroom was a little bummer because of heavy rains when we went) One of the best resorts or hotels that I stayed at and I would always choose this whenever I go to this place.

Beautiful location and lovely property. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. The setting is incredible, with many styles of authentic cottages amongst the forest and most overlooking the ocean. A nice pool area, although could do with a few more sun loungers. We were a bit worried about the photos of the port in the pictures we’d seen, but it genuinely didn’t impact us or affect the hotel’s ambience.

Five ladies enjoyed a truly unforgettable family holiday at Niraamaya Retreat in Kovalam. Every aspect was superb – from the stunning accommodation and delicious food to the warm, attentive service. Wellness was a central focus of our stay, guided by the incredible Unni, who led morning yoga sessions by the sea that catered beautifully to both beginners and experienced yogis in our group. The daily wellness activities added a special touch of balance and rejuvenation. The spa therapies were exceptional – each treatment was thoughtfully tailored by skilled therapists to meet our individual needs and concerns. A truly relaxing and enriching experience in a breathtaking setting – we can’t wait to return!

I went to Mauritius a few months back and I can say with full confidence that Niraamaya experience in Kerala was better or at par with my Maldivian and Mauritius stay. You can go for both leisure and detox as it has one of the best ayurvedic tharepies in India.

A beautiful place with a magical energy. Old trees, birds and flowers. Lovely, friendly staff, good food and healing ayurvedic treatment. The Yoga Classes by the sea are the perfect start for the day - they connect you with the nature around you and your inner self.

We were a bit worried about the photos of the port in the pictures we’d seen, but it genuinely didn’t impact us or affect the hotel’s ambience. The staff were fantastic, so friendly, attentive, and made the stay feel very special. There are a range of free activities each day, including yoga and pottery. The food was delicious at all times of the day - it was one of the most expensive on our trip, but it felt worth it. We appreciated that they had an alcohol licence, enjoying a beer at the pool bar to watch the sunset. The beach was scenic, but there was lots of litter and no loungers. Of note, the sea is too dangerous to swim in - if you’re after a dip, you’ll need a trip to Kovalam town.

Location is wonderful. But not a place for long vacation. You can stay there for a night or two. Stayed in Heritage Premium Cottage in June 2022. Rooms are good. By chance the location of my cottage was nice as it was next to Octogan villa. Don't know about the location of rest. Manager at that time (Don't remember his name) was quite smart as he makes it sure you don't give anything less than four stars in review. Food is okay at lunch & dinner. Breakfast is pathetic. The worst I ever had at this kind of property. There is hardly anything to do. You can visit beach in early morning hours then in evening till dusk. Otherwise nothing until you plan to go out of property means this property is not a destination itself. Then not all rooms are ocean facing. While strolling there noticed dampness & bad odour of water around basic category rooms. They are not very well located.
