Sunday lunch for Mothers day. Shown to a nice table in the window. Menu was really different with some lovely sounding items on it. I'm a chef by trade so the menu caught my attention. Food did not disappoint, well presented and well cooked. Having been previously, I wondered if they had a new chef. All 3 courses were impeccable, My only gripe was the portion of lamb I ordered wasnt very big for the price (£18.50 alone). Total bill for 5 was £250 minus our deposit which reduced it to £180. Service was very efficient by courteous staff

We visited for Sunday Lunch while on holiday in the area. On arrival we could see how busy it was (usually a good sign). The service was fairly quick even though it was really busy. As a family we had two roast dinners, a fish and chips and a starter. All of the meals were good (the Yorkshire puddings were very over done verging on burnt though). We then had a few desserts between us. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious.

The hotel is a lovely historic building in a great setting , easy access to river walks. The rooms were attractive , clean and spacious, I thought fabulous, not what I expected when I walked through the door of a old village pub,- The hotel staff were exceptionally kind , helpful and accommodating, staying late so we could have a late drink on a Sunday night , which we needed as there for a funeral. Food excellent .

Ah, what a lovely place! The food was amazing. Actually, like top notch pub grub. Thoroughly enjoyed. The place is immaculate, the staff are fantastic. We ordered the fish and chips (the batter was sublime) And the leek and potato soup, We are still looking forward to coming back

We stayed here for 2 nights after a recommendation by a friend and we were not disappointed. Managed to get a parking space in the car park but on street parking available also. We had a couple of drinks and snack in the Riverside beer garden before checking in. Had a look at the food and drinks menus and great choices on offer. Extensive cocktail menu that I tried but sadly failed to work my way through during our stay, will complete when we return. We were shown to our room the Brainshaugh Priory. Very well appointed with lovely, spacious ensuite shower room and concealed wardrobes. Complementary bottled water, tea tray with Ringtons teas, coffee and biscuits a d toiletries in the bathroom. Two comfy chairs to relax in also. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and had lunch one day also. The food was all top quality and cooked yo perfection as was breakfast. The staff are amazing giving a first class service without being overpowering. Yhe Hotel is located in the beautiful Northumberland village of Felton and the St Oswalds way footpath runs through. There ard also other beautiful walks alongside the river Coquet. On our last morning we were chatting to the housekeeping staff who kindly allowed us to look at some of the other rooms. Wow! They're gorgeous and planning our next stay when we decide which one to book into next time. When we checked out I asked if we could leave the car in the car park for an hour so we could gave a little walk before we left, lovely guy said yes not a problem leave it there as long as you like. We left a small gratuity for the staff as a token of appreciation for the warm welcome and excellent service. A couple of days later we received a lovely surprise in the way of a card saying thank you. What a lovely gesture. We can't wait to return and can highly recommend.

Booked Sunday lunch on a whim as we were staying in the area for a few days and the menu looked good. Ended up staying in the pub for over 5 hours...The Sunday roast was exceptional, meat was beautifully seasoned & cooked, there were plenty of veggies and the Yorkshires were a work of art. What made the meal even more special though was the attentiveness of the staff and the friendliness of our fellow diners. Although we were nearly 3hrs from home, it felt like we'd just walked into our local where we'd been going for years. Truly a special pub and one to which we fully intend to return as soon as possible! Thanks for a fantastic meal and making it such wonderful experience.

Absolutely lovely Sunday dinner. Mash was creamy, red cabbage to die for, a huge Yorkshire pudding, cabbage, carrots, broccoli and my lentil loaf. Just delicious and thoroughly filling. No room for desert as it was so plentiful. Will definitely return
