it is located in the right area of capital. it is surrounded by a lovely park and is very quiet. despite it offers less rooms than paro, the common areas are larger and more luxurious (restaurant, lobby, terrace, shop). The luxury standards of Aman group are highly respected and the staff is really professional. Its chef is the best of the 3 amankoras we visited. Food was obviously sublime in all locations but this chef is a runner up!

My Amakora experience started with Amankora Thimphu, first was greeted by our lovely guide and drive, taking us on a 1.5hr car ride from the Paro airport to the hotel. Got a little motion sickness (I simply blame everything on the high altitude... 2600ish) although it was a windy road plus i didn't get proper rest the night before. Welcomed with a lovely apple ginger tea that chased the fatigue and dizziness away. Room was a little dark but i was out most of the time so it didn't bother me, fantastic living space as I had the room all to myself, take note that if you are sharing with someone, there's no curtain / doors for the shower, but the hotel can help put a temporary blind or something over it. The most exciting thing about staying in an Aman is that you get to look forward to your Junkie aka your nightly turndown amenity. I've now got a fantastic collection!

Beautiful breathtaking place. Staff are wonderful and attentive. Lives up to the Aman expectations and some more. Love that the rooms are always done up when you leave for breakfast, or an outing. Personalised turn down service . Adds to the whole Bhutan experience

I loved my 7-night stay at 4 of the Amankora lodges. All the properties are beautiful, with an understated and very zen design (they're also very similar so don't expect huge variation from lodge to lodge). My favourites were Punakha (which has a very nice heated swimming pool, and a cozy meditation room in the main house which I used quite a bit), and Thimphu, which is just a short distance from town, located in a peaceful forest with a small stream running through it. The staff at all the lodges were fantastic: hospitable, kind and very attentive. You really can't ask for more. Bhutan itself is among my favourite places I've ever travelled to: incredible nature, beautiful monuments and architecture, and shockingly few tourists. I hope it stays this way. My itinerary, which we more or less planned day-by-day was: Thimphu - Gangtey - Punakha - Punakha - Thimphu - Paro - Paro My one bit of advice to any active traveller would be to organise a trek in addition to staying at the lodges: this is the one thing I felt I missed out on and will be sure to do next time.

We had a fantastic stay at this majestic property set amongst woodlands high above the centre of Thimpu, the perfect escape from the city streets. Our suite was everything I’d hoped for and more. The treatments were an exceptional standard and the entire team delivered a true Aman experience from start to finish. A special thank you must go to Mongul for taking such great care of us and giving us plenty of background to life in Bhutan.

Truly excellent experience. As so often with Aman resorts, the highlight of our stay was the tender love and care shown by the staff. We would like to call out our excellent guide, Karma, who consistently went above and beyond the call of duty, and our driver Theshen. Both were resourceful, proactive and joyful.

If I could give more stars I would! It is not often one comes across a place which is almost perfect in every regard. A beautiful hotel whose architecture melds seamlessly with the surrounding area. The rooms are warm, clean, welcoming and spacious with views of the forest. A beguiling, peaceful and special place. The food is amazing and the service exemplary with our every ask catered to. Special thanks to Phuntsho, Kinley, Chimchi, Anton and all the team at Amankora! Katrinche La! Thank you for looking after us - we feel truly blessed to have been guests.

We visited all five lodges during our stay in Bhutan and stayed between 3 and 4 nights in each lodge. We were lucky enough to arrive in Paro on the second day of Bhutan's reopening (after 2 1/2 years of lockdown). The welcome at the Aman Resorts was extraordinarily warm, and throughout the trip we had the feeling that the people of Bhutan were also very happy that tourists were allowed to visit their beautiful country again. Our guide and driver from Aman Resorts accompanied us throughout the trip. Everything was perfectly organized and our wishes regarding the sightseeing and the duration of the excursions were always fulfilled. We were able to plan our daily program and had enough time to enjoy the very beautiful lodges. A very big compliment goes to our guide and driver. The guide has a lot of knowledge about the history, culture, landscape and food in Bhutan. And our driver took us safely, comfortably and confidently from place to place. The entire staff in the lodges is also very attentive, courteous and helpful. I have never experienced a resort where all the staff knew what our preferences were by the second day of the trip. And this knowledge was passed on from lodge to lodge and the staff knew it before we arrived at the next lodge. What we also appreciated was the very efficient housekeeping. As soon as we left our suites, everything was magically put back in place, no matter what time of day or night. The kitchen was also set up to cater to all our needs. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, dinner or a picnic on the way, everything was always perfectly prepared and very tasty. The individual lodges are very different in terms of environment and facilities, but the suites are all identical. My favorite lodge is the Amankora Punakha Lodge. I would recommend travelers to spend at least 3 nights in each lodge so that you have enough time to enjoy the lodges - they are all beautiful. We had an exceptionally interesting and beautiful trip in Bhutan and the Amankoras and would come back anytime.
