An ideal location for freeway access. However, if you arrive late, take your patience to see someone at the reception and at the check out bi's repetitta. As for the rooms, they are adequate, but do not deserve the number of stars advertised. I took the soap dish twice on my feet, the towels are very "rough". Positive point: the bedding is very good for me (if you like very firm mattresses). And if you come by electric car, the charging rate is prohibitive. Overall a correct hotel without more.

Could have been much better. So many things were not functioning in the room, with the doors that were squeaking and did not lock well . A fridge that did not work . A Toilet that was so small that you could not close the door easily . As for food , very very disappointing . I was expecting so much more . Nouvelle cuisine is not made for all chefs . What a pity . Well the cheese selection was acceptable .

Worst food ever and certainly won't return. Full review on Google Maps, but in short, luke warm steak and veg, overcooked dried out flavourless fish, mediocre service and all very overpriced. Looking since at many other negative reviews, I see that the owner appears to be rather rude if you complain!

It’s a good stop on the way south as v near motorway. We had an excellent meal but hotel room is just functional and a bit small but good bathroom facilities. An extra is a large garden and they accept dogs. Petrol station and shops, supermarket within walking distance

A huge thank you to the member of staff, I think called Cecelia, who made our stay here. She checked us in at reception, served us drinks from the bar, took orders and served at dinner, recommended a lovely wine, chose my cheeses and we saw her the next day either supervising or doing the housekeeping of the rooms, she wasn't on duty when we left so couldn't thank her personally. All the staff were pleasant and helpful but I gained the impression that as in the UK they are all very busy as hospitality staff are scarce. Service at dinner was slow, the hotel was full. As others have said the hotel is situated off a busy main road in a shopping and light industrial area but has lovely grounds, well maintained, and ample parking. The bedrooms are in a block separate from the reception and dining areas. We walked up to old Thiers, about two miles away, for the exercise, its more pleasant, if a little further to go through the residential area back from the main road. It has a history as a knife making centre and particularly interesting to me was to walk up the river past many waterfalls and now abandoned industrial buildings, some reutilised, some not.

The room smelt of bad drains. In fact the whole corridor smelt awful as we were walking to the room. We were so tired from the journey we put up with it and mentioned it at reception when paying. It was met with a shrug of the shoulders, as if it wasn't their problem. Nothing was deducted from the bill, so we paid alot for a really poor experience and shan't be returning. There are considerably better options nearby, cheaper, cleaner and where they have a service mentality. Give this place a wide berth.

Good place for a stopover. The hotel is nice but the distinguishing feature is the restaurant. Had an excellent meal!

Our hotel room was quite shabby with chipped paintwork. It was described as a junior suite ! The meal in the restaurant was quite good but the service was awful. Charles, who I presume was maitre D was rude throughout our meal. The restaurant has tried to assume a grandeur that it doesn’t warrant. The best part of our overnight stop was the breakfast, which was excellent and served by two charming men that understood customer service.
