What a huge disappointment this was and did not even live up to the descriptions in our confirmation letter. Confirmation said that our rooms were wheelchair accessible but the elevator had an old out of order notice on it. There was no one at the property, just a taped envelope on the door telling us to text if we wanted to pay for breakfast the next morning. The downstairs roomed looked like an abandoned event center with nowhere to get tea or coffee and some half used loaves on the side. We were unable to manage our cases to the upper floor bedrooms, so pulled a few items and left our cases in the car. The no smoking deck had full ashtrays and all the seating was dirty or broken. We did not bother to contact the house manager as it was extremely hot and we were tired and had dinner reservations. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean but nothing else.

Love the pillows in the Dansereau room! Also love the location. The proximity of the restaurants and nightlife. The house is cute and the elevator is actually so cool. I’ve stayed here a few times now and it’s a historic, relaxing, beautiful place.

We just stayed at Dansereau House for the second time in 2 years. Obviously, we love it! As others have mentioned, it’s not a hotel; no room service or fancy amenities. But it’s a fantastic old mansion that you can treat as your own for a weekend! Linda, the innkeeper, is completely accessible for any questions; great restaurants in walking distance (and beautiful Cathedral!). If you’re looking for a pampered weekend, this is not your spot. If you’d enjoy sitting in beautiful surroundings, on a relaxing veranda, and harking back to a simpler time, this is for you! We have loved our time here—not fussed over, coffee when we like, glasses and ice at the ready. It’s not in perfect condition, but it’s an old house and very comfortable. Depends on what you’re looking for, but for us it’s perfect! Already reserved a weekend next year ☺️

I went here for a quick Valentine's Day getaway with my husband. The room was huge and the staff was very nice. There are many different types of restaurants within walking distance. This is a beautiful old building with lots to explore nearby.

When I arrived, an envelope was shoved into my hand and I was told where my room was-nothing more. The room was alright, although a chair was badly soiled (so I did not sit on it). The bench at the end of the bed needs restuffing, but the throw on it was nice. Curtains were pretty. Peeling wallpaper in the bathroom. No instructions on how to use the remote for the TV-and power button didn't help nor the off/on button. So that was okay listened to music on my phone. There was NO breakfast-no idea if breakfast is served at a certain time and I missed it or I was suppose to enjoy a single size box of cereal or the instant oatmeal. A great lack of any form of southern hospitality or communications.

We stayed here a few years ago, and I was SO excited to return because it was such a great experience. Now, it seemed like one step up from a deserted mansion. The outside is shabby, the balcony was dirty and the entire place was unrecognizable from the on line pictures. There was NO staff, and the front door was locked. We finally got someone on the phone to say the key was taped to a back door. Leaves and debris were inside the foyer. Rooms were clean and we had Air Conditioning, but there was no ice, some rooms had no AC and there were no amenities. I would NEVER NEVER book this again.

We came with a group of couples. We had a great time. Linda, the staff member/owner, was very friendly and recommended a great restaurant for dinner. She showed us the bar area and said we were welcome to sit at the bar and change the music. After our dinner our group came back and hung out in the bar area catching up. It's very elegant and we had a great time. The beds are very comfortable. The next morning Linda served us a delicious breakfast. We will definitely be back

The location is perfect for a night on the town. I love staying here where everything is within walking distance. The house is charming with very comfy beds and linens. Take a stroll through Thibodaux for nightlife, excellent restaurants like cinclares or fremins, have breakfast at spars which is across the street and get served the best shrimp and grits, or go to church at the breathtaking cathedral. There is no better place to stay in Thibodaux. The rooms are spacious and the three story mansion is filled with history and antiques. It’s a lovely experience.

The pictures of this house are NOT accurate. The house looks very shabby and unkept from the outside. The check in process was not easy and it took us a while to find a key in an envelope on the back door The room was relatively clean, but the curtains were in tatters. The once-beautiful home is in sad shape. We had a decent breakfast.
