Booked for five nights on the recommendation of a friend who had stayed in March 2022. The hotel is right in the centre of town, and the receptionist was friendly and helpful when we checked in. Room was a little small - it had an arm chair, but not enough room to store clothes for two people, and no where to storage luggage. Had four balcony windows, but two of them couldn’t open as the bed or the arm-chair were in the way. Nice shower and toilet. Air conditioning not working - and when I complained the receptionist she said the system hadn’t been turned on yet. Breakfast good with eggs cooked to order. First night was very noisy - the hotel is right above a lot of outside bars (the busiest area I saw in the city), and was woken after 3am by loud music outside. I managed to get some sleep though the first night by closing the windows, but it was hot and stuffy. A friend staying complained about the noise to be told they were not sure where it was coming from, refused to move her, and offered her ear-plugs. The next night I was woken again a bit after 3am by loud music outside. It was too hot to close the windows, and too noisy to sleep with them not. I went to see what the noise was, and there is a bar just around the corner form the hotel which turned into an after-hours (3am to 5am) club. There is also a bar almost directly under the hotel which turns into a club a bit earlier, but I think the street noise drowns this out earlier! Anyhow, I didn’t sleep that night, was too tired to drive the hire car I had hired on a planned trip (because of the lack of sleep), and moved to a different hotel for the remaining three nights so I could sleep better. I suggest you don’t stay here unless their air-conditioning is on so you can close the windows to block the noise, and then it would still be loud even so. I suggest you find a quieter hotel with bigger rooms.
