Bougainvillea Apartments

We had booked a superior apartment on the top floor. On the day of our arrival, Sunday (office closed), an employee was already waiting to hand us the keys. We didn't like the fact that the apartment was at the back of the building with an unpleasant view and that there was also noise from a building construction project on Monday morning. Within a very short time we were able to move to another apartment on the first floor, which we liked much better. However, even on this side, which faces a side street, there was occasional construction and street noise. We noticed that a lot of construction is going on in Grenada. The apartments are simply and functionally furnished. The kitchen was equipped with all the necessary utensils, there was also a coffee machine, a gas stove and a microwave. The air conditioning can be individually controlled. Small defects were fixed within a very short time. The apartment was cleaned every 3 to 4 days and the towels were replaced. There were extra towels for the beach. The staff at reception were very friendly and helped us with all our questions. The complex is ideal for a cheap, uncomplicated vacation. You should bear in mind that the prices in the hotels are very high. We walked to Grand Anse Beach in about 8-10 minutes, but you can take a shortcut by walking through the Radisson Resort. A small shopping center (Grand Anse Mall) with a supermarket, pharmacy and snack bar is located in the immediate vicinity. Opposite on the main road are the bus stops for St. George's and the airport. If you're not afraid of walking, you can definitely take the minibuses that run regularly to the capital; the trip costs US$1. There are no buses to the airport itself. If you don't have a rental car, you have to take a taxi, which costs US$25. Taxis within the Grand Anse region cost US$20. It's about a 10-minute walk to another larger mall with more choice (Spiceland Mall). There are also several banks with ATMs in this direction. If you want to exchange cash, you have to expect longer waiting times at the bank counters, depending on the time of day. There is no currency exchange facility at the airport. There is a good selection of restaurants in the area around the apartment complex. We can recommend the Bougainvillea Apartments.
