Beautiful woman-owned small hotel/lodge with B&B like feel. The house and grounds are pristine and there are fruit and macadamia nut trees you can pick from. The owner Kelly gave us wonderful recommendations for the island and taught us how to search for and open the macadamia nuts. The saltwater pool is awesome, and mattresses in our room were great quality. FYI there are working dogs on the property, but they are the sweetest.

This hidden gem is one of the most relaxing places on South side. We wouldn't stay elsewhere as it offers absolute everything we need. If you're searching for an off the road, natural setting and great swimming pool this is it. Owners have worked hard to offer a lot for your money. Very nice people. Wonderful getaway and between Kona, Hilo and Volcano National Park your traveling is less. More time to adventure. Aloha.

This rundown nut farm is the worst; Roosters crowing all night long, barking dogs, poisonous centipedes on the floor, dangerous wild pigs and a woman in charge who is horrible, no breakfast and no place to eat in the area, pass it by, there are far better choices, and also, i recommend, if you do stay, document, and report to the better business bureau, health department, and licensing for shutting down. This woman tries to show being helpful but don't look the other way.

This place is great if you're an uppity hippy. I'm not. There weren't enough curtains to block out light, we were in a room under the stairs so woken up early (6am) by guests walking up and down. That's understandable and happens. The negative aspect for me was that the first photo shown on ******* is of a kitchen, which it turns out is off limits. The owner arrogantly explains it's the fault of AI, while telling me to supervise my very quiet children in the shared game room...not to mention they have no water in their coffee area, and they serve costco coffee instead of one of the MANY local coffee farms products. My kids wanted to stay there partially because of the dog photos shown...but you won't see them because they're kept on the owners patio and told not to excite them or give them attention. But don't worry, you'll hear them running on that balcony, cause it's above your head, at midnight. This is someone's home that they are gaining profit from, fine, but charge 100 a night and not 200 a night for your (at best) very average accomodations.

I don't know quite what I was expecting here. We knew it wouldn't be a 'resort' in the normal sense of the word and it isn't, but I loved it. Very laid back. The lady who runs it is charming and the two dogs were great. I particularly like Airedales anyway, so I admit to some bias. They were well behaved and friendly and a firm 'no'(not shouted) when they came inquiring about food was enough so they didn't bother us any further as we sat outside with our noodles, providing us with entertainment as they played together. Sitting outside with a glass of wine looking up at all the stars was a great way to spend our last night on the big island, definitely a recommended thing to do. Feeding yourself is a bit of an issue. Past guests have abused the kitchen facilities in the house so you are now restricted to the kettle, coffee machine, microwave etc. up on the veranda and the local diner shut at five on the night we stayed (I think its open a bit later on some other nights so we couldn't eat out, but there is a couple of quite well stocked local stores to get yourself sorted for a night or two. If you are camping here with all your own kit, obviously this won't be any problem. I rather wish we had stayed here for an extra night and one less in noisy Hilo for visiting the volcanoes etc.

The property is fantastic, parking is easy, the common areas are good, you've coffee and tea available, the staff is so friendly. The rooms are a little old, but with new floors and quite clean. The beds clean too. South Point is so close, eating and shopping options are somewhat limited.
