I stayed at the Royal Oak for two nights, and was thoroughly impressed. I had dinner the first night at the Royal Oak, a vegan sweet potato curry with rice and a nan bread. It was hot - very hot! It was also delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. The cider was cool and refreshing, and it was nice to see customers with their dogs inside and outside of the pub. The room was in a separate building about 10 feet from the pub door and was comfy, cosy and absolutely spotless, and on the ground floor. The only thing missing was a wardrobe, but as it was a short stay on business only a minor annoyance. The bathroom was small and well laid out, though I did find that the shower cubicle leaked a bit after I used it! The shower was lovely - great pressure and temperature after a little adjusting. Night time was not completely undisturbed, as there was still a few people about after lights out, but once again nothing but a minor niggle. Comfy bed, nice and big. Kettle and the tea was very nice, TV worked well and the Wi-Fi speed was good and strong so I could watch iPlayer happily on my laptop without issue. I have the vegan breakfast both mornings, and it was lovely. Big mushrooms, veggie sausages, beans and toast was delicious. The member of staff remembered my order the second day, which was nice. Parking is at the back of the pub, and is spacious with lots of room. If you have mobility issue there is a slight rise to the pub but it's short and slight. I will be back in the area again so will definitely choose this pub again.
