I cannot recommend Colleverde highly enough. The location is beautiful because of its simplicity. Vineyards all around and a lovely property with patios, loungers and a nice pool. Quiet, but with everything you need and you really never feel crowded. Apartments are basic but have everything to prepare meals. And the team of people in the property maintain everything well - every day it is tidied, cleaned and reset ready for the next day. There are multiple BBQ stations through the grounds, shaded lounge furniture with vineyard views and a hard court kids basketball / football pitch. You are about 15 - 30 minutes drive from shops and restaurants; that means it's very quiet but you need to plan your food and water. Home-cooked meals are available to buy in the common area - didn’t try them but they look nice. There’s a microwave there if you want to heat them up. You can also buy local wine and products. The wine is excellent. The pool is a fair size - perfect for the 17 apartments and we only had a slight issue on one evening when a lot of guests arrived to start their stay at the same time and all wanted to cool off in the pool. Typically, fewer than half the guests were there every day at any time and often it was literally two or three apartments. Of course, that just depends on the preferences of the guests that are staying when you are there. I can honestly say that the owner Sabrina is the most communicative and helpful host I have experienced in renting any holiday property. She responds to messages in minutes at all times of day and can provide helpful advice on everything from restaurants to travel. The information sent in advance was comprehensive and her recommendations on the local wine tasting and guided tour of Peccioli were excellent (and free). We had no major issues. WiFi is a modern essential unfortunately. I didn’t stay to work but the connection was a bit temperamental and the sign in through WhatsApp with the ‘convenience’ of no password was a bit quirky. Devices like iPads and Kindles that don’t run WhatsApp have to be hot-spotted for a connection. I’m not ruling out user error on my part either - it really was not a big deal. I’m always mindful that reviews on the internet are only worthy of consideration if you share the same values as the reviewer. With this in mind, having read other comments on Colleverde, there are a few things I want to say to do this place justice from our experience about some of the comments left in reviews. Cats: You may not like cats - that’s your privilege. If you are really bothered by them then this may not be the place for you. There are about 10-20 cats, wandering freely about the property. They are friendly, don’t bother you and are largely disinterested if you don't have any food for them or don’t want to make a fuss of them. If they do come unwanted to you, they run away when you shoo them. Personally, I found them less intrusive than the dogs that other guests brought with them (n
