Visited the park and restaurant Park is amazing . Really loved it. Restaurant i cant say it is the best but vrry friendly staff The Live food, I tried the lamb and it was very delicious. From the buffet , the best part eas ice creams, deserts , fruits and Curry sauced prawns were the best. A lot of choise in the dinner. Snack bar ( very Dutch and kids and youngster will love it ) Live show, Sate Skewers ( with Sate sauce ) Steak, ( pepper sauce ) Lamb, Pork options and chicken dishes, Salad bar is very European, mix of everything Starters, Cheese , Sushi choices , Mostly immigtant works thats cool to see and they r super helpful Saw two Chef , they love to help people Diner was too busy , good to go early From balcony u can see Pink Flamingos, after a time their voice can b annoyed They need good aspiration system for Grill, if no balcony door open than all over stinks and so much smoke in the air. All staff helpful and good Would rate the food 3,5 stars of 5 Staff : 5 stars Park and scenery is 5 stars

I am not going to lie. I wasn't expecting too much from this hotel. Not because the pictures weren't nice but because we booked it hurriedly, and purely for the convenience of it being next to a friend's wedding venue. But boy were we pleased by the big spacious clean rooms. And to add to that the customer service was impeccable and everyone was very nice. The food here was quite good but for me what really made my stay at this hotel was that after booking an extra night with them at the last moment, they gave us a room overlooking the bird park. So on the morning of waking up, I could tea and breakfast staring into the beautiful eyes of an inquisitive ostrich. So cute. I loved my stay at this hotel, it was so clean and calm and peaceful and with my free pass to the park, I had plenty of time to get to know their many many bird species. My favourite is officially the Hornbill and the enclosure with circling Ravens. And as an addendum, for anybody like myself recovering from surgery, this is actually a great place to relax and unwind with a little privacy, and to simply kick back and recover with full room service and friendly staff on hand to make sure your stay is as relaxing as can be. The only thing this hotel is missing is a spa! I am In love with this hotel.

The staff treated my mom and her friend like Gold. The property is stunning, the rooms are so comfortable, the tub- beautiful. The food, incredible. Was a shot in the dark with this location but mom and her friend absolutely loved every second of every aspect of this experience.

We booked this hotel as we wanted to go the De Haar Castle which is located just outside Utrecht. However, to our amazement this hotel is next to a Bird Park and when you stay at the Van Der Valk Avifanua this entitles you to visit this park free of charge. The reason I am telling you this, is this is not pointed out when you check-in!!!

My 12 year old son stayed here for 2 nights with his football squad while they were competing in a tournament. After they left the hotel my son and the other 3 boys that were staying in the same room all discovered that all of their cash had been stolen from their wallets (around 200 Euros in total). The wallets were inside their bags in their locked hotel room so it can only have been a member of staff who stole the money. Stealing money from hotel guests is bad enough but taking money from 12 year old boys is disgusting. I emailed the hotel to raise my concerns and they did not even have the decency to reply. Our football club has reported this incident and also reported it to the tournament organisers who are embarrassed that their host country has had its reputation damaged by this hotel and they will encourage teams to avoid this hotel in future.

Spent two nights with a coach group. The hotel room was clean, spacious with a bath and separate shower unit. Rooms were in a separate block from the hotel's Reception. The dining room for evening dinner was an outdoor walk away from the bedroom in the adjoining Aviflora park. Fortunately, the weather was fine if not a little cold. On the Sunday night we were treated to a sumptuous buffet dinner with choices to suit every taste. We expected the same on Monday night, only to be offered a "take it or leave it" three course meal, including a chicken curry dish, completely alien to me. The best they could manage for dessert was vanilla ice-cream with a dollop of whipped cream on top. I don't know how vegetarians coped. Breakfast was served in yet another building, a shorter outside walk in the cold morning air. Usual continental fare, and nothing to get excited about. Could do better!
