Can't sleep. My room is 109 and under restaurant. It have sound of drag chair over my head since 7pm until after midnight. Already told reception, restaurant staff but they can't do anything. It still noisy and make irritated me too much.
Don't recommend for anyone.

I grew up in Braga and Hotel do Elevador, in the beautiful Bom Jesus do Monte, was a real iconic hotel, back in the 60's and early 70's, either to stay or for a dinner in the beautiful covered veranda. After I moved abroad I tried to stay there, during a visit to family, to no avail. When I arrived I was told that they had a wedding in the garden and it would therefore be too noisy (they never bothered to inform me about that fact, even if I booked short before arrival!). I was then told to stay one of their other hotels nearby, Hotel do Templo, but the room was very gloomy and my whole experience was ruined! When I decided to visit Braga once again I thought that giving it another try, for old times' sake, would be a good idea. Wrong........ The hotel is rather rundown nowadays and I ended up staying in four rooms, during my 3 day stay, two in Hotel do Elevador and two again in Hotel do Templo. The receptionists did they best to try to solve the problems, the management did very little. Dinner was not that good either! This is an experience I will never repeat ever again!

The Hotel is need of some modernisation in the rooms BUT it was clean and functional. The staff were all extremely friendly and the evening meal fabulous. The breakfast choice was limited but perfectly fine and all fresh. A great location and would certainly staff again in the future. In addition - one of the young men behind reception lent me his i-phone charger which saved the day for me!!!!

Very bad experience with the Rooms are under the restaurant, so many time noisy from people walk , run and drag the table on the wood floor at all the time. Can not sleep but expensive paid We are 3 of us drive far from algarve to Braga that we need to sleep. Since we check in till Midnight they still noisy Bang Bang Bang !! Crashhh!!! On the floor. No more next time Terrible Reception can not solve any problems Just say sorry 5 minutes, 10 Minutes Sorry !!!

For those who enjoy excellent traditional Portuguese cuisine with a touch of modernity and flawless classic service, there is no better place to dine in Braga. Still with fabulous views over Braga from a magical place that is Bom Jesus.

It was a good or lucky thing to have chosen this hotel for a quick visit to Braga since the hotel itself is located in the heart of the monument to visit (Bom Jesús do Monte) and very close to another point of interest (Sameiro Basilica) where we were able to enjoy one of those epic sunsets (thanks to the recommendation of the hotel receptionist). The hotel is old and could definitely use a refresh, but it is clean, beautiful and in a very good location. There are plenty of reasons to give it a very good rating.

As part of our Bom Jesus tour, we had a very good coffee and a really excellent Vinho Verde in the neighboring hotel. The service was friendly and competent, the atmosphere was exceptionally beautiful in this fabulous setting and the prices were reasonable for the ambience. The interior design is typically elegant and dark for a hotel, and there is a great view from the restaurant.
