Really nice vibe at this hostel, the owner is really helpful. They help you find stuff to do and have a WeChat group to do stuff with other guests. This city doesn't offer much but this hostel definitely makes you wanna stay longer!

Hostels for foreigners are usually fairly relaxed and easy to work with. This one was even more special, on arrival a quick passport photo and I was given my sheets and shown my bed. Before leaving the front desk, the receptionist asked me to scan the group QR code. I was fairly tired and had a big day planned the next day so I stayed to my bed. Even still being involved in the group text, gave me some ideas of other hostel members planning trips around the area. Location is close to the bus station and good energy among the hostel.

The location of the hostel is great, right next to the Tengchong Tourist Bus Station, a ten-minute walk away. The entrance is Rehai Road, which is considered the main road of Tengchong. There are restaurants of all kinds of flavors and styles, so finding food is not a problem. There are buses at the entrance that go directly to Rehai Scenic Area, Western Yunnan Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall, and Qiluo Ancient Town. In fact, Didi is very convenient and not expensive. Recommended for those who travel alone, especially those who rely on public transportation!

Tomato Tree Hostel is located in the villa area, with an elegant environment and first-class facilities. The quadruple room has a private bathroom and a balcony full of flowers. The villa-type youth hostel is comfortable, clean and hygienic. The location is convenient, near Tengchong Tourist Terminal. It is also close to Heshun Ancient Town. The boss told me about a small mountain road and you can go directly into the ancient town without buying chestnuts:). On the day of check-in, I met a friend from Guangzhou who showed off his cooking skills, and we all enjoyed a sumptuous dinner together. We also played Lami cards afterwards, which was really fun! highly recommended!

Traveling alone, I stayed at Tomato Tree Youth Hostel recommended by a friend.
Tomato Tree Youth Hostel is next to Tengchong Tourist Bus Station, in a villa area of a high-end community. It is relatively quiet. The beautiful boss is very nice. There is a homely atmosphere. Young people share cars, travel and meals together, and often organize activities. I was lucky to meet a folk singer. We spent two consecutive nights in the youth hostel, chatting, listening to music, and watching the stars. It was a group of interesting souls.
