This was the first time we had experienced a game night menu and being on a Friday night decided to book in for an over night stay for the first time. Always receive a warm welcome from the staff. We had a lovely comfortable room which was spotless with everything we needed. All the rooms are named from herbs which is so unique. The menu for game name night was creative and absolutely fantastic, staff attentive and service first class. The meals we selected were absolutely amazing and perfect. We had a beautiful evening and good night sleep. In the morning we went for breakfast and had a selection of breakfast cereals, toast and then good hearty English breakfast with tea and coffee served in a lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. The hundred house is not just a restaurant, its is a wonderful experience of exceptional quality food which is so unique which makes it so very special. Will definitely returning for more wonderful dishes.

Visited to celebrate son's 50th birthday along with 24 others in private dining room. The food was exceptional and the staff could not have been more accommodating. We chose to stay overnight and were warned that there was a wedding on that day. The only room available was on the second floor and Stuart carried our case and saw us to our room. The room, Parsley and Thyme, was delightful. Comfortable bed and functional bathroom. First time we have stayed in a room with a swing but thought it best not to try it out! We were not disturbed by the wedding or traffic. The cooked breakfast was very good - scrambled eggs cooked perfectly and super coffee. We will definitely recommend to friends and family and hopefully return in better weather when we will be able to explore garden. Thank you Stuart and staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

We visited on Friday the 8th of November for the Game Night! We'd been meaning to visit for a few years & life just kept getting in the way! When we saw this menu advertised, my husband and I agreed that this was a must!! My Gosh, it did not disappoint!! Wow - it was amazing! for starters we are complimenting the atmosphere, it was perfect - the interior is fantastic & the staff were very professional & attentive. Even the younger members of staff carried themselves with such confidence & professionalism & were a credit to whoever trained them. The food was the best we have had in a long long time. The flavors were out of this world with the best combinations to make every mouthful a taste sensation! We even had the opportunity to meet the chefs which was great to be able to pass on our thoughts directly & congratulate them on being genius's in their field. We were kindly provided with menus of what they have to offer on a Sunday & also their Christmas menu. I promise, we will return - you have definitely gained our custom.

We didn’t stay but have eaten there many times. Very ‘high end’ bar food. Always delicious. Staff are brilliant. Ambience is great too. I always have one of the pies which is a proper pastry pie - not one of those pies in a pot with puff pastry on the top.

We have driven past this hotel on numerous occasions and decided to book for a Sunday night stay. Our two course Sunday lunch was wonderful and satisfied our appetite for the remainder of the day. The room was a little eccentric for our tastes with a swing hanging from a wooden beam at the foot of a comfortable 4 poster bed. It's close to a busy main road so be prepared for noise from passing traffic. Breakfast was delicious. The gardens are worth exploring - like fairytale.

Amazing hotel full of character. Really friendly staff and our room was fantastic. 4 poster bed and a swing. Added to the stay. We celebrated our 25th anniversary here and thoroughly enjoyed the stay and our meal inthe restaurant. The food was delicious. Plenty of choice on the evening menu and hard to make a decision but we were both happy with our choices. We went in the garden after breakfast and chatted to one of the gardeners who clearly loved her work and we discussed the challenges the weather has given this last year for anything to grow. She clearly prides herself on her work.

I'm going to be at odds with many comments and reviews. Yes the building is old and quaint and the gardens potentially lovely but there are a number of things need improving to justify the cost. The food was nice when it eventually arrived 50 mins after ordering which meant we had to cancel our dessert. The breakfast choice was very limited. we stayed in Tarragon room which really needs some basic DIY and decor upgrade and in no way can be regarded as luxury. Not sure if we picked a bad day but the gardens were unkempt and in places the paths overgrown. We really couldn't justify the cost of the room or the restaurant. The road noise is a definite problem

Fabulous starter. Lovely flavoursome main meals. But overall lacking in a couple of areas. Our waitress who brought the wine did not offer to allow us to taste the wine it was just placed on the table. There were no vegetables with one of the main courses and no side options.
