The staff's exceptional friendliness and attentiveness, along with the comfortable beds and lovely views, were praised. The convenient location near lively areas and popular tourist spots was also highlighted.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. In reality, it wasn’t a hotel at all—more like a rundown guesthouse with the bare minimum of amenities. During my eight-day stay, the room was cleaned only once. There was never anyone at the reception desk, which made things even more frustrating. The only positive aspect was the location. Other than that, everything else was a disaster. Don’t be fooled by the ratings or the photos—avoid this worthless dump at all costs.

Very noisy in the morning if you sleep on the ground floor There is no one at the reception most of the time The fire extinguishing system was driving me crazy for half the night until I went out and reset it myself In the evening I asked the person in charge if there was coffee, he told me there was a cafe on the street, only in the morning did I realize that there was a crazy coffee machine in the room with a bean grinder haha The room is small Do not sleep in room 111

A real boutique hotel. Friendly. Rooms are cozy. Great part of town just a block away from the cafes that literally explode on thursday and saturday night. Attentive staff. A little cafe part of hotel. I was there for Sar El and they were very gracious. Quite cost effective

We stayed at The Montefiore on 4.30.22 after arriving in Israel from the U.S. We stayed in Room 26 which was located on the 3rd floor. At 28 sq. meters (+/- 300 sf) with a small balcony facing Montefiore St., the sleeping area and bathroom were cozy and well designed. Our king size bed was firm and comfortable. The hotel and our room were clean and beautifully renovated. We had an excellent dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. I don’t think the restaurant manager was too impressed with our request for a table without a reservation because he replied (in Hebrew) to the hotel manager that they were completely booked. We asked the hotel manager if the restaurant was booked for the rest of the night or just right now. A couple of minutes later she phoned us and said a table would be available in 15 minutes. What’s wrong with a little gaslighting after 16+ hours on a plane? The hotel’s restaurant space doubles as the breakfast venue. Similar to other hotels in Israel, an enormous amount of food is served with breakfast. There is a menu with various entrees that is accompanied by a tray of different Mediterranean items (shirazi salad, hummus, tahini, cheeses, bread items, etc.). Breakfast was excellent. Despite the initial hiccup with dinner, we would recommend The Montefiore Hotel and restaurant if you’re planning to stay in central Tel Aviv.

We booked a double room and received a single room which they denied even after raising it. The cafe advertised for breakfast wasn’t open everyday so some days we had a pastry given to us in a bag the day before. The critically acclaimed Spa which was advertised didn’t exist… in fact it was obvious our room had previously been the spa. Reception was barely manned and one night we lost sleep because a fuse tripped sending off an alarm in reception and bright green light in our room (this had been loosely covered with a teabag so I’m guessing was a regular occurrence). In the first 7 days our room wasn’t cleaned 3 times .. we had to leave our rubbish outside eventually. Finally had to ask if someone could change the bedding after a week. When raised this with hotel after the visit they offered us 50% off our next stay. We have no plans to go to Israel in the near future beautiful as it was. When asked if they could give us other compensation of equal value they said they could give 50% off cost of a room to a friend or relative 🙈….honestly this guy seemingly running the place needs to be seen to be believed.

Room 317 with balcony. Lovely to have the fresh air. No elevator BTW. Extremely clean room and nice bathroom and good choice of channels on TV. Breakfast is in the cafe downstairs except Saturday when you get a voucher to a nearby restaurant. Staff are fabulous and very friendly

We arrived in the evening and self-checked in as no staff are available after 5pm. We found this easy to do. The room has a fan and air conditioning, with the latter appearing dated but functional. Both were controlled by the same unit which wasn't easy to understand, but we managed to have both on, which was needed, as the room was very hot without it. When we first arrived, we both had a shower. Unfortunately, a clump of hair was clearly visible in the plug, which I had to remove myself. I did bring this to the attention of staff the following day, and was advised this would be looked into it, but never received any further feedback regarding this. The shower consisted of a fixed waterfall head and another flexible corded one. The waterfall shower was weak, so we used the corded one, which was better, however, this was positioned at waist height on the wall, so had to be held whilst washing, which wasn't ideal. One of the pillows appeared to have signs of mould on it, that had been washed, but signs of it remained. I also advised staff about this, and was again advised it would be looked into, but the pillow we had put to one side just got returned to the bed each time the room was checked. There was a fridge in the room, which we were really happy about, as it was hot outside, and this meant we could cool water for use in the night. However, it became evident that the fridge didn't work properly and only cooled items left in it for a prolonged period. Water we had in the fridge still wasn't cold after two days. I was advised a cleaner did not come into the room every day, which was fine, however, we noticed that an old receipt which we found when we pulled back the curtain remained until we put it in the bin ourselves. There is a cafe attached to the hotel which served a sandwich or pastry along with a hot drink as part of the included breakfast. We found this to be adequate for the day ahead, with a bag being provided in advance for those days we set off early. On Saturdays, the cafe is closed and a voucher is given for alternative cafes nearby, the one we went to provided a plentiful breakfast, more than we'd ever had in the hotel cafe. We are unsure if we would have ever received this voucher however without querying the arrangements for that day. The hotel location is very good for a short walk to the beach, a good sized supermarket, bus stop, and local bars and restaurants. I would strongly advise against having room 320, as this room also had no outside space, and didn't seem well maintained or cleaned.
