Dan Tel Aviv Hotel

Tel Aviv City Center Tel Aviv|1.2km from Hilton Beach
I have recently had 2 short stays at both the Dan Tel Aviv and Dan Eilat hotels. These are both top of the range prestige hotels of the Dan group. I was amazed to find such a difference between these two supposedly 5 star hotels. Firstly I should point out that the cost of one night in the Dan Tel Aviv for bed and breakfast is only slightly less than 2 nights bed and breakfast plus buffet dinner and return flights by Arkia at the Dan Eilat. I think this confirms what many previous reviewers have suggested that the Dan Tel Aviv is priced too high. While on the subject of cost, it might be worthwhile noting that in the Dan Tel Aviv if you by mistake use a plastic bottle of water they charge an exorbitant price whereas the glass bottles of water are free; at the Dan Eilat the plastic bottles are free. The Dan Tel Aviv no longer provides free newspapers; the Dan Eilat does. I was very surprised that the Dan Tel Aviv has no blankets or duvets in the room. We had to request two; they only delivered one and we had to request a second one. Quality five star hotels normally have something in the rooms during the cold weather. The Dan Eilat is very well staffed compared to the Dan Tel Aviv. For instance, there were 4-5 clerks at reception at the Dan Eilat but only one at Dan Tel Aviv. Some would say that comparisons are odious but I would suggest that the comparisons I have outlined of these 2 suposedly first class hotels, the Dan Eilat is far superior to the Dan Tel Aviv.Maybe the manager of the Dan Tel Aviv should visit the Dan Eilat to see how to manage a prestige hotel efficiently. The ''Best of the best” rating for the Dan Eilat is fully warranted whereas the Dan Tel Aviv is a long way off achieving this honoured status. Years ago the Dan Tel Aviv used to offer a daily first class business lunch. They stopped offering this after a 50% increase in price killed the demand. They also used to offer a splendid Saturday lunch which they have also stopped. I sincerely hope that my review may encourage the management to follow the example of their sister hotel and improve the service and value that they offer their customers.

Shalom Hotel & Relax - an Atlas Boutique Hotel

Tel Aviv City Center Tel Aviv|0.3km from Hilton Beach
We stayed at this amazing hotel for 2 nights (16th & 17th May 2023) after leaving our cruise which had travelled from Miami USA and ended in Haifa, Israel. We travelled by train from Haifa to Tel Aviv then got a taxi outside the train station directly to the Shalom Hotel & Relax at Atlas Boutique Hotel. We arrived at the hotel at 11am and were greeted at the entrance door by Yufus? Jusuf? (apologies if i spelt your name wrong) who lead us through towards the hotel reception desk. We were the first of a group from our ship who were due to stay at this hotel (booked by our travel agent) We were a group of 4 friends/2 couples. Within minutes of our arrival we were offered drink refreshments. The 2 ladies chose cappuccino and the 2 guys opted for a beer. These were quickly brought to us plus a plate of fresh baked croissants (told all were complimentary) Our receptionist (who we quickly found out had used to live in UK - Tottenham/London) was lovely, friendly and explained that although we were early as check-in isn’t usually until afternoon she would do her best to allocate us a room asap. We asked what the rooms where like as we hadn’t chosen them (our travel agent had included the 2 night in Tel Aviv in our cruise&stay package) We were informed our agent had booked the whole group into the hotels smallest/cheapest rooms, all with side views… but assured all were clean, comfortable and had all the amenities as the Front back facing rooms. We enquired about upgrading rooms and we were fortunate that we were able to negotiate/purchase an upgrade to 2 beautiful superior spa rooms (with hot-tub) on 4th floor, with sea views, facing the front of this hotel. These rooms were outstanding. Fabulous rainfall shower in bathroom, plenty of wardrobe space, really comfortable super-king size bed, minibar filled with complimentary soft drinks, a coffee/tea machine plus armchair, footstool and the fabulous hot-tub on a raised platform near the window. Also in our room was a complimentary gift of chocolates which was a lovely gesture by this hotel. A great way to spend the final days of our cruise & stay holiday. 👍👍👍👍👍 On the floor above us was a sun terrace equipped with daybed loungers, hammock, rocker chairs and table & chairs, plus gazebo and plenty of extra large sun umbrellas as/when shade was needed. The view from this terrace enabled us to see the sea and enjoy the fabulous sun sets each evening of our stay. This hotel offers it’s guests a fantastic complimentary snacks & drinks “happy hours” from 4pm till 6pm each evening in the ground-floor dining/lounge area. They provided tea, coffee, white wine, fruit juices, a selection of spirits plus an buffet of crisps, nuts, crackers, cheese, hot snacks selection, plus mini desserts of mousse, fruit and/or trifle. The buffet was constantly replenished by the kitchen staff and guests were free to help themselves to whatever was on offer during this time. Napkins, cutlery, crockery and glasses etc were av

I've booked a 2 bedroom apartment. The place is ideally located and very calm. The apartment was very clean. The kitchenette has a microwave, 2 heating plates, 2 fridges with a freezer. Air conditioning works perfectly Team is very welcoming and professional We will definitely recommend the place to our friends and we will come back. In addition; there are nice bakeries, fresh fruit juice stalls and restaurants in the neighborhood I do recommend Levantini

The location is excellent. It is located in what seems to be the heartbeat of Tel Aviv. Turn left and walk 4 or 5 blocks to the Mediterranean Sea. Or turn right and walk through endless restaurants and people outdoors having a wonderful time. The hotel really is perfectly located. But even more impressive was the amazing staff. My plane arrived at 4 am and I got to the hotel at 5 am. The staff graciously went ahead and gave me a room. The room was clean and comfortable. The manager and staff leaned forward to help with restaurant recommendations, a nearby fitness center, and with laundry service. The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. When I return to Tel Aviv, I will not even consider another hotel. I will definitely stay again at the Jacob Samuel on Dizengoff Street!

best feature is the location which’s a close proximity to TLV’s classic attractions. Gordon beach is right there. must nicely credit the fine room service. breakfast has minuses but is diverse. the all&all atmosphere & staff conduct at the lobby is no more than that of a youth hostel. besides a morning male receptionist who’s polite, attentive, professional European who mastered Hebrew impressively, the rest are ‘giving their dues’ ok, without *any* sense of hospitality. some clearly try not to look at you on the way in/out,shall you need to bother them with anything.. the few small dining tables weren’t cleaned after use, & i had to actually ask daily for a garbage-free table. the hallways carpets are unsightly to put it mildly. the whole accommodation should cost 1/3 of what it is. you literally pay 4-5 star rate of any great world city (TLV is lovable, but NOT up to par) in return for a hostel. as simple.

The staff at reception were terrible! From the very second we arrived, throughout our stay, everything we had to do with them was annoying and difficult. Partly probably due to some very strange rules (e.g we were asked to pay in advance for the rooms and not allowed to give a credit card number as security until we leave and pay with another card, which was not with us at check in, they also charged our card a security amount of €200 without even telling, let alone asking us before doing so). We’ve asked for a few things they might have for the children, and never heard back, including when we needed a thermometer for one of the children I called because I was alone with them and couldn’t go down to reception. I never heard back from them for over an hour and had to go buy one when my husband got back later on. These are just examples, it was like that with everything we needed or asked and they were generally unpleasant. Perhaps it was the overload of the second part of August? The concierge was on his mobile on a private call and we stood there for 5 minutes until deciding we better go out and get a taxi on our own. The list goes on and on....
