Located on an unassuming side street moments from restaurants, bars and shops with a 10 minute walk to the beach, this beautiful, friendly hotel presents itself. From the warm greeting of the doorman, to the friendliest of welcomes from the reception staff we knew we had stumbled onto something special. Through the deco styled restaurant, we were escorted to our rooms with our luggage being delivered separately. The rooms were lovely, fresh and bright with ample storage drawers and hanging space. The bathroom had a large walk in shower, was equipped with good quality toiletries, bathrobes and slippers. The room had easy seating, extremely comfortable beds and a good sized satellite TV. Bottled water and and some sodas were complimentary along with teas and coffees for the Nepresso machine. The room has a safe and windows that can be opened. Blackout curtains are there for the light sleepers. The hotel has a highly recommended restaurant that I strongly suggest booking in advance as this gets filled up very quickly by guests and non residents. The menu seemed a little limited but the food was excellent, so tasty and very well presented and cooked to our requirements. There is a small but perfectly formed rooftop bar with loungers and seats where complimentary drinks and snacks (fruit platters, cold meats, cheeses, nuts, olives etc) are offered for a couple of hours each evening which we made the best of as it is refreshingly quiet and has a calmness about it which we welcomed after a busy day. Breakfast is served in the restaurant with fabulous selection of cold buffet (local delicacies, breads, meats and vegetables), there is a separate table with pastries, muffins etc. Hot and cold breaksfast are available from a menu. The breakfasts are not by any means 'standard' I would describe the options as fusion and innovative but very tasty however, our request for a slight adjustment was lost in translation but that did not stop our enjoyment but it might be something to be mindful of.. we soon adapted! The hotel also has a spa offering treatments but we ran out of time so we were unable to sample this area. There is no swimming pool. The Drisco Hotel is managed by a super friendly team of individuals who aim to please and make sure that you have the best experience during your stay and we certainly did. Special thank you to Amir(tennis mad) Maira and Jesse.
