A Truly Disappointing Stay
I stayed at this hotel in a Deluxe room in mid-June while on a week-long business trip. I had planned to extend my stay over the weekend with my wife and invited my mother to visit Georgia, booking her a room at the same hotel for a few days. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of disappointing from the start.
When I checked in, I found that the room did not match the description or photos provided. The room was significantly smaller, lacked a sofa, and bizarrely, the sink was positioned right next to the bed instead of in the bathroom. That very night, I went to the reception to request a room change, explaining that I had paid for a Deluxe room. Initially, the staff insisted that there was no mistake and that this was indeed a Deluxe room. They also claimed they had no available rooms to move me to. After much persistence, they finally showed me several Deluxe rooms, none of which matched the online photos. Exhausted from my early morning arrival at 5 AM, I decided to stay in the original room—a decision I would soon regret.
My room was on the 6th floor, the hotel's top floor. I woke up at 8 AM to unbearable heat despite having the air conditioner running since 5 AM. Stepping onto the terrace, I found it cooler outside, even though it was already 30 degrees Celsius. I also discovered the terrace door was broken and wouldn’t close, and a light bulb in the bathroom was flickering. As I left the room, I asked the reception to fix the door and replace the bulb, and requested to speak with the hotel manager. They informed me that the manager wouldn’t be available until 10 AM but promised he would call me. A week after returning from Georgia, I have yet to receive that call.
A few days later, my mother joined me and checked into a Deluxe room, which also did not match the photos. We had booked a room with a king-size bed but she was given a room with two single beds. Moreover, the wardrobe in her room was broken and only partially opened.
By the end of the workweek, my wife arrived. The first thing she noticed was a long dark hair in the shower, despite the fact that she always showers with a cap and housekeeping had cleaned my room four times since my arrival. The towels were also full of holes. The next day, after a long walk, my wife and I returned to an uncleaned room. The trash I had thrown out was still there, and the room was unbearably hot and starting to smell bad. The wet, hole-ridden towels I had left on the bathroom floor for replacement were still there, and the bathroom reeked of sewage.
As I was about to go to reception to request cleaning, I received a call asking if I planned to extend my stay. I was shocked! From the first day, I had informed the reception that I had two consecutive bookings (both paid for), one covered by my company for the workweek and the other personally for the weekend. Despite being a frequent visitor to the reception, they failed to recognize my extended booking and payment.
A few minor details: The breakfast was nothing special. For 30 GEL, I recommend eating at a café where you’ll get a more substantial and personalized meal.
Overall, my stay was marred by numerous issues and the staff’s lack of responsiveness. I cannot recommend this hotel.
