Such a stunning Hotel set on the bank of Loch Awe! So romantic and grand, but with a warmth that makes it relaxing and homely. The food was superb and staff were just brilliant! My daughter had son in law had their wedding here in march and it was without a doubt the most perfect setting for perfect day:-) all of our guests commented on how beautiful it was. I highly recommend staying here!

Oh how sad this place now is. Last time we were here, a few years ago, whilst the rooms were a bit dated even then and the water ‘a bit peaty’, the hotel was in good shape, there were ample staff who couldn’t do enough and the food was excellent. It’s a shame but the place doesn’t just look tired now but, in parts, exhausted. The place has clearly had a lick of paint a few years back and the public areas have had a bit of a renewal, but it would seem that that’s where the renovation has ended. Reception is a messy desk under the stairs and the three staff on duty, all act as receptionists, bar staff and wait staff - which means a long wait for a drink in the bar. Our bedroom curtains were so thin that we could see the sunrise through them, the carpet was wrinkled with age, the rugs had evidence of previous guests, the mishmash of furniture is at best odd, the bathroom tiny and the spray from the shower above the bath - well you can imagine. The extensive grounds will need a lot of work to restore them. Our ‘welcome’ note from the Manager tells us that our room will not be serviced whilst we’re here - which is not really ok (especially if your towels are wet!). Also we never actually saw the Manager around the hotel - which speaks volumes. Having said all that, the food isn’t quite up to where it was but is still very good and of course it’s not expensive to stay here. It’s very peaceful and has amazing views. This place needs some proper investment, care and love, and, with that, it could be a fabulous country house hotel. Sadly, it’s not that now.

I am staying at this £300 plus per night hotel as I’m writing this review. Staff good. Food good. But you CANNOT leave bedrooms unserviced for THREE days-that’s beds NOT made up at all and leave a note in which you ASK your punters TO MAKE THEIR OWN BEDS. Not and will never be acceptable and is NOT something that should only be told to the customer WHEN THEY ARRIVE. No no no no no. Stop it.

Just home from another wonderful wee stay at Ardanaiseig Hotel. The place continues to amaze me - the tranquility and beautiful setting, the history, the quirky interior, the lovely rooms and brilliant food. Romantic, eerie at times, and always totally relaxing. This was our fourth time at Ardanaiseig in two years - and I'd go again next week if I could. The team running the hotel are the same as two years ago and they feel like good acquaintances by now. This place feels like a close knit community, and as guest you are invited into the circle. The remote location adds to this, as do the large, wild and over grown grounds. And when we arrived in from the cold we were welcomed by freshly lit logs in large fire places and mulled wine. Heaven. Back next year (or maybe before?)!

Long overdue return visit truly wonderful from turning into the driveway with the rhododendrons in bloom and entering the hotel with roaring fires, squishy sofas, candles, unique art work and the warm welcome from the new management Gary, Dawn and Maxine who go to any length to ensure everyone is looked after and has a good time. The two new younger members of the team Arthur and Caitlin were lovely too. Our Loch view room was huge with a magnificent four poster and we were lucky to see some deer grazing on the lawn between the hotel and Loch. A big part of the Ardanaiseig experience is the food and with chef Mike at the helm we were not disappointed with lots of local produce everything was delicious Home now and trying to decide how soon we can go again

Just back from a wonderful 3-night stay with my husband celebrating our wedding anniversary. From the minute we drove into the hotel grounds on our 1st night until the minute we left to go home, we couldn’t have been happier. Too much to compliment on, but the main things were the staff, the hotel itself, the Chef, the surroundings, and just generally overall hospitality. Needless to say, we can’t wait to return to Ardananiseig in the near future. Special Thanks to Maxine, Dawn, and Gary for making us feel so welcome xxxx A very special place ❤️

We booked Ardanaisaig Hotel as a special two night birthday treat for my wife, having read good reviews in *********** and an overal rating in Trip Advisor of 4.5, based on over 800 past reviews. It looked like an idyllic setting but we felt totally let down by the shoddiness of the place and attitude of the staff left there. We felt cheated by the people who own the hotel and have put management in place, under contract, who are totally inept, disgruntled by the lack of investment by the owners, and consequently have a “it’s not our fault” don’t care attitude. The bedroom that we were allocated was The Orchy and it was left in a filthy state (see photos). Even after complaining to “the management” we didn’t get an apology just a blaming of someone else who should have cleaned the room, again not their fault. Even after they had supposedly cleaned the room it was still left in a shoddy state with the bathroom left with a floor so filthy we got dirty feet walking on it. We tried desperately to find other accommodation in the area without success but unfortunately none were available. In conclusion this place is not worth more than a 1 or 2 star rating and a price tag for B & B no more than £60 - not the £182.50 per night we paid. The place is a very sick old lady that desperately needs treatment, a new injection of money and a total management clear-out to bring it back to life, and a status that it’s location and history deserves. This old manor hotel is in a beautiful secluded location on the shore of Loch Awe. The hotel is quirky with lots of old and unusual furniture. Loved the Garden walk and the Forest walk, the swing and unusual bench. We spent hours surrounded by nobody else while exploring and sitting on the bench drinking wine. The staff are so friendly and the food was really good. Yes the menu is small but not surprising, given the small number of guests eating. The menu changed on the second night, so we had completely different choices. Given the tranquility of this location amd how delightful the staff and hotel were, we will definitely be back.

Myself and partner went with our 1 year old daughter to Ardaniaseig hotel for a treat for her birthday, via a good 5pm deal. First of all, they were excellent when changing the dates the day we were supposed to arrive, due to my daughter's ill health. We change to the following week, and weather aside, were delighted to stay. It is a beautiful old style hotel that screams ******* mansion. They really seem to embrace this vibe, as even the mens bathroom is the same eerie colours as the one from the Shining (along with a portrait of twins outside it...). I loved this vibe, there's portraits everywhere. We had dinner the first night which was beautiful. The portions could maybe be slightly bigger however the taste was sublime and we both noted there was no extra saltiness or antyhing that you get in some hotels. A word for the staff, they were so lovely to us and our daughter when we stayed. They made a big deal out of her and were so helpful for places to go and see nearby, including recommending the bar down the road for our second nights dinner. The room was beautiful and as others have said, has its quirks in a really good way. One thing I would say is they could do with some brighter lights from the car park to the main reception. I loved the roaring fires they had on and it was a perfect escape for people wanting a weekend in a remote part of Scotland, away from the city.
