Tui Blue Suite Princess - Adults Only

Just over halfway through week here and unfortunately looking forward to going home! We booked this last minute and chose it based on the good reviews and the pictures of both the room and the facilities which make it look almost luxurious, unfortunately, we now know that these are obviously very "artistic" in nature and don't really give a true picture. Before I say anything critical, I fully appreciate that anyone's review is subjective and its obvious that a lot of people love the place for what it is, I am merely putting some points down to make sure other people don't fall into the same trap we did and get ****** in by the good reviews and the management pictures and descriptions and get the chance to make a more informed decision. The pictures of the rooms are slightly deceiving, although it is clear some money has been spent in the bedroom and living areas, you should note the below points: - Avoid at all costs any rooms on the second floor facing the pool area around the evening entertainment area, if you fancy a quiet evening and aren't interested in spending every evening watching and listening to the entertainment - these rooms will not be for you! The music either blares straight through your patio windows or reverberates straight through your floor! - The bathrooms have not had anything spent on them other than some slap dash painting and re-grouting, they are dated, tired and feel slightly grubby - I do realise you don't spend all day or night in there, but a 4* Hotel standard this is definitely not. - The towels are provided in the bathroom are a bit of a joke, obviously very cheap when they were bought a very long time ago and are discoloured and grey - again - no way a 4* standard! - The pictures of the pool area don't do justice for how close the Sunbeds are pushed together to get as many as possible in the area, if you like any form of private conversation or space, it simply isn't going to happen, they are squeezed in like sardines in a tin! - The food can only be described as fuel, its nothing more than cheap and repetitive, I thought that they would at least attempt to do some more local dishes, however, this isn't the case, but if you fancy Burgers. Hotdogs, French fries and Pizza every lunch time your in for a treat! There are Salads etc to choose from, however, you need to wade through the brown lettuce and soggy tomatoes to get a plate full! Taurito (where the hotel is) itself is small other than the hotels, a couple of small tourist shops, restaurants and bars. Unfortunately the road between Taurito and Puerto De Mogan which is the nearest big town, has been closed for about 7 years, therefore if you want to travel the 5kms to Mogan for the evening - it will cost you 25 Euro's each way! This is due to the distance you have to travel back down the main road to do a U-Turn and head back in the right direction, therefore, once here your slightly trapped unless your happy to pay for expensive taxi rides. Been here 3 times .lovely staff .accommodation was spacious and clean .had a garden suite which was so peaceful. Food was great at dinner but lunch could be a hit or a miss .lot off choice but repetitive at lunch .was there over the new year and that was fantastic from the meal too the entertainment and the fireworks. Couple off down points .paid for all inclusive plus but not much choice off gin .bottle off tanquiry would not go a miss .also if you pay all inclusive plus it would be good to get all the cocktails not just a certain few .lastly I would like too thank tui staff on our last day she caught a virus .could not do enough is a understatement. The hotel was very clean. Every member of staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good with lots of choice at every meal. Our room on the 9th floor had amazing views with sun on the balcony most of the day. The room was kept very clean by the staff. The sunbed rules at this hotel are the best we have experienced anywhere, with no reserving sunbeds before 10am. Anyone leaving towels on the beds before has them removed and charged 2 euros to get them back. No one reserved. The bar staff and waiting staff worked very hard making sure everyone was served quickly with a superb range of drinks. The entertainment at the hotel was brilliant with something for everyone, both in the piano bar and in the main evening entertainment area. The silent disco enjoyed by everyone. We recommend this hotel to anyone that wants a very relaxing holiday with good food and entertainment in a very pleasant atmosphere. We will definitely be back for our 8th visit soon.
