We have just spent a lovely weekend in Taunton. Having booked late we are so pleased to have found such a great hotel - walking distance to restaurants & off-street parking a big bonus. Our room (room 1) was clean & comfortable with a lovely large bathroom. Richard kindly helped with restaurant recommendations which we took his advice on and thoroughly enjoyed….thank you! We will definitely be back & have recommended you to my family when they come down to visit my sister who lives 25mins outside Taunton.

Lovely stay at Beaufort Lodge! I stayed at Beaufort Lodge in Taunton recently while attending a wedding nearby, and it was absolutely lovely from start to finish. The house is beautiful, full of charm and character and in a great location that’s peaceful but still close to the town centre. My room was spotless, super cosy, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay, and It was the perfect place to unwind after a busy day. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area, whether it’s for a special occasion or just a weekend away. I’d happily stay here again! Lauren

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Taunton! From the moment we arrived at Beaufort Lodge, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The warmth and hospitality shown by Richard was second to none. The guest house itself is spotless, full of charm, and beautifully maintained. Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and had every comfort you could want, from crisp, clean linen to a delicious selection of teas and coffees and a cafetiere. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we both slept like logs! The location is absolutely fantastic too, just a short walk from the town centre, but far enough away to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing night’s sleep. The free off-road parking was also a bonus. All in all, Beaufort Lodge is a real home-from-home, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting the area. We’ll definitely be back!

Recently stayed for the second time at this property. However, the second time gave me a real chance to see what the establishment is really like as the first time, I arrived late and left early next day…. The owner is never around and again sends a message before arrival advising a family member has passed away. Clearly this is an auto message designed to MISLEAD guests upon check in as received exactly the same message on the first time I checked in.. Very weird set up indeed. Also there a scruffy homeless man living in the shed in the back garden who blasts the TV until early hours. It’s a glorified Doss house / half way house. Also smells of **** all the time, maybe growing in the basement in in the garden with the homeless man… in the rooms the towels were never changed and faeces stains on the bed sheets.

Our room was average, but priced for a higher range. The room offered the usually tea making facilities, shower, parking, TV and a reasonable comfortable bed but without the breakfast it was over priced compared with the major chains. The location was average, certainly not in the town center. In this day and age a USB socket would be advantageous.

Due to a family incident we didn't see the owner. So for over £200 per person (2nights) we didn't receive the service I assume we would have got. As our stay there was out of season my room at best was a work in progress. I reserve judgement due to the circumstances.

The Beaufort Lodge exceeded my expectations on so many levels. The owner spoke to us immediately on our arrival and maintained communication throughout. He even took the trouble to send personal text messages, including one with the WIFI code to ensure that we had it. The room itself was absolutely stunning!

We only stayed for 1 night. The room was clean & the bed was comfortable. Very good value for money. They don’t do breakfast but Tesco cafe is just over the road & they do a lovely breakfast . It’s less than a 10 minute walk into town. We would definitely stay here again.
