We went there on our wedding anniversary. We booked a standard room, but we were put into a suite without any explanation, whether it was the hotel's consideration or because the room was fully booked. There was no prior consent or explanation on the day. We asked if we had the wrong room, and they finally told us. On the contrary, it was too big and we couldn't relax. The suite door was wobbly, as if it had a lock on it, and the balcony was not solid, so we could enter through the corridor, which made us feel very uneasy. The bath was a pure brown medicinal bath (there was no medicinal bath in any of the photos of the rooms). Even though the food was said to be locally produced, strange vegetables were served raw like salad sticks without any explanation. We ended up eating it wondering what it was. However, it was quiet and nice that children were not allowed. The large bath on the 8th floor had a good view and we could take a bath in the open air, and it was nice to be able to watch the black kites flying around at eye level in the early morning.

This was my first trip in a long time, so I stayed in a nice room at this hotel, but it didn't feel welcoming at all, the food was the same as the other rooms, and the dining seat was shown to the very edge. The rest area after the large bath was also small, and if there were two people resting there before you, you couldn't rest. The hot spring in the room was very good, but the room was very dusty. When we checked out, a Japanese man stood up as soon as we got off the elevator and started paying. At other inns where we paid about 120,000 yen for two people, they let us pay while sitting on the chair, but at this inn, we stood up and there was no conversation. There was no consideration at all for how our stay was. An inn with no hospitality. What's the point of having this Japanese man at the front desk? The woman from Sri Lanka at the restaurant was very nice. My companion also told me that the hot spring was good but the service was bad, so we should have stayed at another inn.

I had a good stay at the Luxury Suite before, so I booked it 4 months ago for my birthday anniversary plan. I guess it was because I didn't specify my room preference, but I was assigned the 5th floor mountain side. I was assigned the room I thought was the least popular. I was relieved that it was a different type from the last time, but the seat I was shown to at dinner was by the window, but there was a tree right next to it. There were other window seats available... When I was shown to the seat, I couldn't help but complain, but I decided to be happy that I was shown to the window side because it was my companion who was paying, and I didn't want to eat in an unpleasant atmosphere, so I decided to be happy that I was shown to the window side. If it had been a normal stay rather than a birthday, I wouldn't have thought so... I booked a good room, paid extra for extra meat, and paid more than 150,000 yen (although I didn't pay for it...) and this is it. The final blow was that I had to wait a long time for breakfast. It seemed to be fully booked, so I knew I had to wait, but they served the food to the people who came later. They apologized for taking so long, but it was a foreign staff member who tried hard to speak in very halting Japanese. Shouldn't a Japanese staff member be there? I was still feeling a bit uneasy, and I couldn't find a questionnaire in the room, so I decided to write it here.

I stayed here for our six-month wedding anniversary because the reviews were good. First of all, I was surprised that the food I disliked was served normally at dinner, even though I was asked about it when I made the reservation, in the confirmation email from the hotel, and even when I checked in. What would have happened if I had been allergic to it? If they can't share that information, I wish they wouldn't have asked in the first place. The apology was brushed off lightly, and I wondered if they really thought they were sorry. Maybe because it's an old building, there were several cockroaches in the bathroom, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wants a clean place. I was really looking forward to it, so I was very disappointed. I don't recommend it for people who are thinking of staying on an anniversary.

I stayed in a room on the 8th floor of the Classic Building. You can see the city of Tateyama and the Self-Defense Force base from the room. I wish I had brought binoculars! The hot spring on the terrace is at a comfortable temperature, and if the weather is good, you can enjoy it under the stars at night. When it rains, I used an umbrella on the terrace to bathe. The meals were not too large, and they were made with local ingredients, so they were all delicious. I also had a lively conversation with the staff. Everyone was friendly and good at talking. The only thing that's unfortunate is that check-in is at 3pm and check-out is at 10:30am. If you could check in at 2pm and check out at 11am, you'd be able to relax. Also, I didn't really like the smell of the room, so I wish it was odorless. Next time, I'd like to stay in the Prestige Building for several nights.

If you take the Aqualine ETC discount from Tokyo via Kisarazu, you can get to Tateyama quickly and cheaply, and suddenly a modern building on a hill appears in the middle of a residential area along the sea. The lobby is on the upper floors, but an unmanned cart takes you from the parking lot to the lobby, and you have to wait a little while to be shown to your room, but the welcome drinks and snacks in the lobby are substantial. I stayed in a spacious room with an open-air bath in the Prestige building, and it was well equipped with facilities, amenities, and free drinks, and the balcony was wide and you could see the sea. However, since it is surrounded by residential areas, I was a little worried when I was in the open-air bath even though I couldn't be seen from the surroundings, and the view was only so-so. The dark hot spring warmed my body well and seemed to have some kind of medicinal properties, and the view from the large bath was a combination of residential areas and the sea, but on a good day you could see a little of Mt. Fuji in the distance. The dining room had a calm atmosphere, and I was very satisfied with the dishes made with luxurious and fresh local ingredients that came out one after another. Also, my table was served carefully by a person from overseas, who answered my questions about the food, which was a nice touch. The breakfast menu for the next day was also extensive, and they even brewed the coffee using a siphon, so overall it was a very satisfying stay.

Two nights from February 7, 2022. The first night was a Precious Suite, and the second night was a Premium Suite. I called the hotel directly to make a reservation. I chose a different room because I couldn't get a Precious Suite for two consecutive nights. (The Precious Suite is more expensive) I took a shuttle bus from Tateyama Station to the hotel. There was one other group on board. First of all, when I arrived at the hotel, there was no cart, so I had to stand outside with my luggage for a while and wait for a while, and the cart was shared. The group that arrived at the same time checked in at the lobby and processed the check-in immediately, but we had to wait quite a while (the other group was in the Classic Building). During the check-in explanation, I was asked, "What are your plans for tomorrow?" When I said I hadn't decided anything, I was told to let them know as soon as I had decided. When I asked why I had to report my plans, they said I would be moved to another room tomorrow. Is it for your convenience? I know that check-in is at 3 p.m. Both the Precious Suite and the Premium Suite are on the 3rd or 4th floor. I was assigned to 301, and the air conditioner filter cleaning light was on. They hadn't even cleaned the filter. And it didn't work well, so I turned up the temperature quite a bit, but it was still cold. The open-air bath in the room was lukewarm and I couldn't warm myself up. The shower room was also cold. And the worst part was the strong draft noise from the window. Of course the door was locked, but it was so loud that neither of us could sleep at all. The next day after breakfast, we were given a questionnaire and wrote about the filter and the draft noise, but there was no apology. Other people had written about the draft noise in other reviews. And I told the hotel directly, but they ignored me. Also, the next day we were assigned room 302. The room next door. The third floor again? I wish they had been considerate and given us a different floor the next day. And the toilet smelled bad! I wondered if the smell was still there from the last time I used it. It smelled like the original smell, and it was always there. The toilet wasn't a private room, so I had to smell it every time I took a bath. Also, we chose the best plan for both nights out of the best plan and standard plan. On the first day, I noticed that the menu on the seat we were seated in was replaced. When I read everyone's travelogues, there was no meat dish, but they just mixed pork belly into the rice. I felt like the amount was small, but the next day it was so much, it was completely different from the first day. Maybe they made a mistake and ordered the standard plan meal on the first day, and then realized later and forced the second day to make that amount. (I didn't check this) I asked if the amount was more than yesterday, but they just said it might be. So, since I couldn't eat the rice, I asked them to make it into onigiri and take it back to my room, but it was terrible. The shape was too messy. It was so bad that I didn't want to eat it. It tasted bad. Anyway, it was a stressful trip. The accommodation fee for two people was 170,000 yen. I will never go again.
