Shirakabako View Hotel

It's a good old hotel. There is Lake Shirakaba in front of you, which is suitable for walking. There was a lot of morning fog when I stayed, and it was a very nice atmosphere.

It’s been a long time since my trip to Japan. It was a great stay experience and the service was very good. The room was very clean, tidy and comfortable. I spent a very pleasant night here with my family and friends. I will also recommend it to my friends.

This property was purchased by the Itoen Group. The facility is very old and has a feeling of ruins, but many of the surrounding hotels have actually gone out of business, so perhaps this is unavoidable given the current customer numbers. The large communal bath is small compared to the number of rooms, so I imagine it gets very crowded on weekends. Unfortunately, there are no washlets in the toilets in the rooms. The buffet doesn't have any special ingredients. The only benefit is that you can drink as much beer and alcohol as you want. The breakfast buffet had more Japanese side dishes. This time I stayed here for skiing, so it wasn't a problem, but you can't live the resort life at this hotel. Well, it's worth the price.

This was my first time staying this season. At first, I stayed alone, but the room was so spacious that it was a waste for one person. The toilet in the room had neither a heated seat nor a washing function. I saw a shared toilet in the hallway and used that one. The toilet in the large bath was a Japanese-style toilet. I felt like I was staying in a cheap business hotel. It was small for a large bath, there were only a few washing areas, and there was no open-air bath or sauna... I didn't have a good impression. The second time, I stayed with my family and included meals. The toilet was heated and had a washing function, and the hot spring was open, so it was comfortable both morning and night. My wife said that the meals were "one of the better Itoen hotels." Personally, the daikon radish in the oden was delicious. My wife ate a mountain of crab. When I asked her, "Crab in the mountains?" she said, "It's better than a hotel near the sea." The ski drying room was also freezing with just my boots on the first day, but the second time, there were other people's equipment and the stove was on properly.

Seriously, it's the worst. I arrived late at night, but the cicadas outside were so loud that I couldn't sleep until morning, so I complained to the front desk around 5am. I talked to the front desk, but they called the manager, and I talked to him, but it was a natural thing... so I was very particular about it. Apparently there had been complaints before about the loud cicadas, but there was no mention on the reservation site that the cicadas were noisy. I thought I would be spending time at a quiet lake, but I was fooled. This is the worst hotel group that even accepts refunds. I contacted the head office, but they said they couldn't give me a refund. What is the legal basis for non-refund? When I asked about this, I was given an incomprehensible answer, saying, ``Our company cannot handle this.'' If you can't explain the legal basis, please refund me. Everyone, spring cicadas may be noisy this time of year. The noisy room was on the first floor facing the lake.

This is a hotel from the same chain as the hotel I stayed at a few days ago. The alkaline simple hot spring bath is the best. I was satisfied with the jet bath and cascading hot spring bath. The dinner menu is extensive. After all, I'm happy to have all-you-can-drink alcohol. There's beer, wine, and even local sake, so you'll be spoiled for choice. The breakfast menu is almost the same as Suimeikan in Yudanaka. It's nice to have curry in the morning. The morning curry served with rakkyo and fukujinzuke was the best. Opposite the hotel is the shore of Lake Shirakaba, with a beautiful view. Also, the Tateshina Teddy Bear Museum is right across the street, so it's definitely recommended for families with children.
