Taroudant is not really a tourist town, but it does have one thing going for it - the Dar Zitoune resort, which is outstanding. After days of staying in small rooms in the riads of Fes and other Moroccan medinas, it was a real pleasure to get to this place with it's large rooms, exquisite grounds and adaptive menu. From the moment you cross the threshold you feel you are in a different world compared to the heat and dust of the outside world. Whether you stay in the Berber Village with its imitation Berber tents or in a traditional room as we did, this is so much better than the cramped confines of most riads. We especially enjoyed the dinner menu that changes daily and offers three entrees, non of which is traditional. The fact that you can get good Moroccan wines or even a real cocktail is a plus not found in many places. If you just want a break from the limited menus, alcohol free and frankly boring meals of many traditional Moroccan venues, this is a good place to start. Relaxing by one of the pools or just rambling through the greenery is another reason to forsake the riads for this place. While I did love staying inside the medinas in a traditional riad, sometimes you need something different and Dar Zitoune is it.

Amazing Hotel the grounds are absolutely stunning the pool is so inviting the perfect size to do lengths the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and go above and beyond. If you want to stay and Taroudant I would highly recommend this hotel it has everything you could ask for and the service is just incredible. Food is also amazing little tasty amuse-bouche keep arriving and the lamb I had last night simply fell off the bone I would highly recommend coming here

Only stayed here for one night on our tour. We wished we had stayed longer. Lovely large room with large shower. We ate outside which was a great experience. Food was super. Breakfast was bought to us the next morning in the dining room. Very friendly staff

Pretty well laid-out gardens with nice pool. A very traditional place with well decorated rooms dotted around and a feeling of privacy. Nice and relaxing to return to after a day's touring. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food - wholesome and tasty.

We stayed as a couple as part of a organised tour. Our room was a villa/ bungalow in beautiful gardens. We had spacious rooms with fresh fruit and bottled water on arrival. Good attentive service from reception, restaurant and pool staff. Two outside pools, one absolutely amazing and heated to 28 °C. Breakfast was cooked to order, along with fresh orange and coffee. We had two tasty meals - Moroccan and International- in the restaurant with complementary amusé bouche. Best hotel we’ve stayed in Morocco

After a wonderful stay over Christmas and New Year we have returned feeling very relaxed, well fed and sunkissed. This has been our twelfth visit and standards are still as high as when we first came and in fact the food gets better and better (very pleased with the addition of fresh fruit with the extensive breakfast). There have been some staff changes but the new staff have been well trained to cosset us. Monaime, the manager, is in constant attendance checking that we are happy with everything and nothing is too much trouble. The New Year party is great fun and we thoroughly recommend it.

Individual bungalows set amongst fabulous gardens await you here. Each bungalow is named and offers a large bedroom with a separate seating area, and a well-appointed bathroom. There is a swimming pool and a jacuzzi for guests as well as a spa. The gardens are delightful to walk around and be sure to look out for the resident turtles.
