The accommodation impresses with friendly staff, varied breakfast, comfortable bungalows, and a great location for island exploration. However, some guests find it expensive with limited value for money.

As par previous review, new French couple managing this for less than 2, years, so previous comments may not be so relevant We stayed here 4 days and loved it: - great location with manta ray just near the dock - free kayak to reach the motu in front and snorkel in coral garden - (almost) walking distance to some shopping - very nice owner very helpful and family style - but the best of the best is the food : great breakfast and amazing diner for very reasonable price. - great value for money (in front of the relais château resort 7x more expansive !)

Liked · The Large Bungalow - de l'Archipel, we rented the two units available, were both nicely appointed but needed maintenance. The air conditioning worked well. We enjoyed having a refrigerator. We enjoyed the front porch for seating outside. The sea life near the dock is great....we saw Manta Rays, Octopus, tropical fish. Kayaks and bicycles are available without charge. Disliked · The Large Bungalow - de l'Archipel, we rented two units. The property is tired and small things throughout the bungalow were broken, worn, etc. Windows leaked rain and the seals were gone so that the windows were foggy. Bathroom floor blistered. Cabinet doors hanging from hinges. Front door locks either broken or handles missing. Bathroom door had no handle or latch. Inadequate or no towel racks. Inadequate lighting particularly around the bed. The rooms are dark. The traffic noise is quite loud early in the morning. Sun blinds not working. Broken wind chimes hanging everywhere. The restaurant is too far uphill from the rooms and is way too expensive. There is no wifi available in the rooms, only in the restaurant. Smoking was allowed in the restaurant areas. Staff was really only interested in selling us tours, which we declined. There was no offer of towel changes or room cleaning during the week. Transportation to and from the property is complicated and expensive. The similar property next door went out of business during Covid. Most of the cabins here are not air conditioned.

We just stayed at the La Perle de Tahaa and we thought it was important to share our experience which doesn't ligne up with the other reviews and photos on different web sites. Here are the pros and cons Pros : - Location. Tahaa is a beautiful authentic island. - The sunset is breathtaking over looking Bora Bora - Snorkeling: plenty of fishes to see along with gigantic Manta Rays Cons : - Be aware the photos used online to advertise the pension as they are not the reality anymore. The pension is in an extremely poor condition. The pension has not been maintained for many years. For example the pontoon is falling appart; the concrete is cracked; the wood is mouldy and could be thermite infected; the grey water gets drained directly under the bungalows... - bungalow is very dark and many small issues and everything felt dirty. No cleaning of bungalow over our 3 nights stay... - The towels in the bungalows are falling appart with holes and looked as they have been used for too many years - The just arrived French host are tired and are not invested. They are just doing the bare minimum. - The restaurant is just acceptable. They are cats and dogs everywhere and be aware if you are allergic as you will have to deal with them. The food is basic for example bread and jam for breakfast with few fruits. The dinner is basic with no choices at all and expensive for what you get (no entertainment). - Poor customer skills for example the hosts look sloppy; tired. They were smoking in the restaurant cans leaving directly ashtray full of butts on tables... To summarise if you want an authentic Polynesian experience you will not find that here. Polynesian are amazing and this pension doesn't reflect the local spirit. Last point be aware that if you don't have a car you will be stuck in this place as nothing around and no food options..

This accommodation is own by a French couple that moved to Taha’a about a year ago. The reason why I am mentioning this, it’s because the old comments may not be related to the current property. We loved this stay. Not because it is a luxurious place, but because it is quite simple, familiar and local. We were very well received and treated. The food was local and amazing. There is access to the sea in front, canoes and a very nice place for snorkeling. I recommend this place for everyone that want to feel the real french polynesia vibe. Thank you ❤️

English: We arrived here as our last stay in Polynesia and after staying on the other islands in family guest houses run by very kind, helpful and very cheerful locals, we found ourselves staying in a place run by a French family who were not very interested in the customer but very interested in money, with bicycles for a fee (in the other structures they were available for free), poor breakfast at 1800 Polynesian francs per person, fixed menu dinner 5000 francs per person and I assure you that even if it was excellent quality you didn't go to bed feeling heavy given the portion.... let's move on to the bungalow, all the hinges on the doors of any wardrobe present definitely need to be checked again, they were falling off, acceptable cleaning but definitely not optimal given the costs, towel change never done in 4 days, practically non-existent Wi-Fi, mattress to be replaced, tap water not drinkable (in the other accommodations they always gave us free drinking water, here a bottle cost 300 francs, be careful not to step on the black cockroaches that walk around the house at night or that as in my case I find myself on a slipper. If that were not enough, the bungalows are close to the only road that crosses the island and that you have to cross to reach the sea, not the beach, the sea because there are not even one beach in Thaa. If despite everything you decide to stay here, be careful about the transfers, the trip from the airport to the structure costs for 2 people 14,000 francs there and 14,000 on the way back A ROBBERY but there are few other alternatives (always paid to the manager of the structure)

The owners (European) think about money before your well-being No charm of Polynesia I really do not recommend Exorbitant price of the low-end room and with them the service does not exist, everything has to be paid for

Unacceptable to pay 5000 Polynesians for a completely surprise menu. I asked him for chicken and chips…..in the afternoon. For dinner they arrive overcooked nuddkes with a semblance of meat mixed with a thousand various rubbish Potatoes the chef does not cook them was the answer Vote 3 And the guides report the presence of a renowned chef. Absurd. Go out for dinner!!!!
