Disappointing Experience: Bugs in the Bed Ruined Our Stay My recent stay at Taormina Palace was unfortunately marred by a rather unpleasant encounter with bug bites from sleeping in the bed. The two out of the three of us who slept on the bed, woke up to find bug bites over our legs and arms. These bug bites resemble bites of bed bugs. I have posted photos of our bites and a potential bug casing which was found in the bed. We immediately reported the issue to the front desk, and while the staff were apologetic and sent housekeeping in to change our linens, the next morning we awoke with further bites. The hotel staff stated that we could have received bites from a number of bugs outside the hotel, but only the two of us who slept in the bed have bites. The third person who slept on the sofa bed does not have any bites. We found it difficult to relax and enjoy our stay, constantly worrying about the possibility of encountering more pests and the hazard of bringing bugs on the next leg of our trip and then back home to Canada. After checking out, an email was sent asking for a refund due to this unpleasant experience. The hotel staff stated no refund can be implemented due to them not finding any bed bugs or bugs upon inspection. Pictures of our bites and a potential bug casing were sent to the hotel. No refund or reimbursement has been given. Upon arriving back home, much of our clothing and belongings were thrown out to take the upmost precaution in ensuring no bed bugs enter our homes. I would advise future guests to exercise caution and thoroughly inspect their accommodations before settling in.

Sadly our recent trip to this hotel was ruined by incessant early morning noise from the very busy road directly in front of our sea view balcony, coupled with the sound of pneumatic drilling that didn’t relent from 8 am in the morning. On speaking with the reception staff , they refused to acknowledge that this had impacted on our sleep and was detrimental to our enjoyment of our stay, the manager wouldn’t even come to speak to us directly and refused to offer any complimentary concessions to recoup us on our nightmare stay. Very disappointed as this was a present from our daughter, and whilst we understand noise can occur, it was the attitude of the staff towards us regarding this matter that upset us the most. No surprise but finding the parking is a bit of a trick, but once there you can leave it and walk everywhere. Very convenient. Our room had two balconies overlooking the city and the sea. Everyone was very friendly.

No frills hotel in an amazing location. Very short walk (straight uphill) to the main road in taormina with all the shops/ restaurants. Bedroom was decent size. Balcony with sea view was nice. My only complaint is that you can hear neighbors through walls easily.

Huge room, comfy bed, great location, right next to a parking lot. Staff is super helpful and kind. Restaurant as so good, we ate there both nights and has a fabulous view.

We have just returned from a lovely week in Taormina. We had an amazing stay in Taormina Palace hotel. All the reception staff were extremely friendly and polite and always ready to help. Our room was very nice and comfortable with sea view. We woke up every morning to view the sunrise directly from our bed. The restaurant on the top floor was just the most relaxing place to eat the hotel’s incredible dishes and enjoy the panoramic views. The restaurant staff were so friendly. Breakfast was really delicious. Anita looked after us really well and made sure every morning we had a selection of her delicious homemade cakes to enjoy. However there were a few issues with our room at the start of our stay. The air conditioning wasn’t working properly ( we walked into a very warm room), we couldn’t open the safe in our room, the ceiling light was flickering and the bathroom had a very strong smell of drains. The reception staff were very friendly and attentive and they sorted all the problems by the end of the second day but we would have preferred not to have to deal with any issues at all. These matters should have been picked up before our arrival. Also, it would have been lovely to have a complimentary bottle of water in our room on our arrival. Little things like that make all the difference after a long day of travelling. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back or to recommend to others but because of the issues I have listed above we are not able to give it 5 stars.

Hotel was well located, close to cable care and the town center. Rooms were very clean and staff very friendly. Also has a beautiful view from the bar/restaurant.
