Value stay with good food and onsen. First room assigned was not the cleanest, but staff changed the room on request. Peaceful & scenic, ideal for a relaxing stay to enjoy the area. No stores nearby though.

Great hotel with a magnificent view of the sea. Sunrises not to be missed. The catering is excellent as is the service. A hot bath is large and with sea view too.
The only thing we missed was the laundromat.

It's a pretty nice hotel in a sparsely populated village.
The view from the rooms is amazing.
I'd like to go back again.
There was a sign nearby indicating the height of the tsunami's reach, which was helpful.

This hotel has a fantastic location, directly overlooking a little harbor and the sea, amazing walks (perhaps hikes is a better word) along the coast in either direction, including the tunnels at Kitayamasaki and the Unosu Cliffs, an excellent hot spring bath with ocean views and big tatami rooms. The food is fantastic and the sunrise fishing boat cruise recommended. More than anything, the staff are an absolute delight. Despite being inundated up to the third floor in the tsunami, the hotel is still proudly standing and very much open for business.

We stayed here on a tour of the Sanriku coast. Before entering the hotel, I visited the ship casting of "Kitayamazaki cliff cruise", but it seems to be the same management. We could see the hotel from the boat. The location is excellent as it is the only hotel in the small port. Raga means a slope in Ainu language, so it has an image of being built at the bottom of a hill. All rooms are ocean view, and you can see the vast ocean of the Pacific Ocean from the window. Since it faces east, you can't enjoy the sunset, but you can enjoy a beautiful view in the morning when the sun rises. I was able to see the "Sunflower" ferry going to Tomakomai around 5 o'clock. There is a sidewalk on the road, so you can walk to Hiraname Beach and the beautiful sandy beach of Aketo Beach. The dinner of the tour was a set of kaiseki cuisine, and it was good that local ingredients were used. Finally, I was surprised to see boiled strawberries. However, breakfast is a little disappointing with dishes that are everywhere. The only difference was that the milk and yogurt were delicious.
