I stayed here a few weeks ago as I had a day operation in a nearby hospital so thought I’d stay the night before and then after the operation but ended up driving home rather than staying here and it was awful, only thing good about it was the receptionist was very friendly checking in. The room was dated, there was cobwebs, with a nice dead spider attached, the socket was hanging off and not working so is a complete health and safety issue, there’s only a tiny little electrical heater in the corner of the room, some chipped paint in the wall. There were 2 of us booked for 2 nights and there was only one set of towels. I was in a rush so didn’t get this raised with the staff in the morning as I had more important things so emailed them after my procedure this and that I wouldn’t be returning for my second night due to the standard of the hotel. They told me I couldn’t get refunded as I didn’t flag it with reception during my stay. I did flag it with the hotel via email rather than in person. I have only received £28 good will and been told they’re due to get a refurbish, I feel like that isn’t acceptable as I didn’t stay the second night. I haven’t got a reply to the email I last sent over a week ago stating that I did inform the hotel of the issues during the stay via email. I stay in premier inns about 3/4 times a year and they usually are exactly what I need, a clean basic room for a comfortable nights sleep but this hotel was a complete let down, even the bed was smaller. It just needs a complete refurbishment to fit in with the standards of other premier inns, it has completely put me off booking ones I haven’t stayed at. If staying there is a nice Indian near by called saffron lounge, I would recommend a visit.
