I went on a hot spring trip every year at a pace of about once a year, but I couldn't go on a trip all the time due to the influence of Corona, so this time it was my first trip in 3 years. I like the hot springs and sea views of Nanki Shirahama, and I have visited many times in the past, but I used the Shiraraso Grand Hotel for the first time this time. Shirarahama is in front of my eyes, the view from the room is very good, the hot spring is very good, and the skin becomes smooth. As for the meal, it was just the right amount for us, but I thought it was a little less and unsatisfactory for young people, and the rice for dinner was not white rice, but cooked rice. If you want white rice, you can offer it from here, but if you don't say anything, it won't come out. Besides, the rice bowl is a small bowl that I think is for children, and it comes out in a small amount, so if you think it is troublesome to refill it many times, you should tell it from the beginning. The employees were basically very customer service attitude, and there were only a few unfriendly people, but most employees 々 responded comfortably. 3 I stayed for a night, but I was slowly soaked in the hot springs and healed with delicious food.

I had a great experience staying at this hotel! The view from our room was amazing and we particularly enjoyed the private onsen, which allowed us to unwind while watching the stunning sunset. The staff were all very friendly and polite, which made our stay even better. However, the hotel's location is next to the beach, which means you have to climb a slope to get there. It is also quite far from the JR station, and the only public transportation available is a 30-minute bus ride. Additionally, there are no restaurants or convenience stores nearby, so you might want to plan ahead for meals.

We booked this hotel for our honeymoon, and it did not disappoint. We booked a room with a private onsen that overlooks the ocean. Unfortunately, the weather was gloomy and/or rainy most of the trip, but the view was still spectacular, and the onsen was incredible. The hotel itself has an older exterior, but the inside is immaculate. There is a bar with floor to ceiling windows that overlook the ocean. The Italian restaurant also has floor to ceiling windows that look over the pool. Our suite was the best (and biggest) hotel room that we stayed in while visiting Japan (including a massive shower, a double sink vanity, and a seat for the vanity). However, we did book a suite with a king bed, but were told that all of the rooms have 2 twin beds that can be pushed together. It was not ideal, but that was the only issue that we had. Infinito also had the most in-room amenities out of all of the hotels we stayed at in Japan. Infinito provided the usual amenities (hair dryer, water bottles, tea, coffee, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bath slippers, etc.) AND several additional amenities (cookies to eat with tea, hair straightener, a second set of Bulgari amenities, a skin treatment set, hotel wear, indoor and outdoor slippers, etc.). The staff was absolutely fantastic. My husband had arranged for flowers in the room for our arrival, and the hotel was very responsive and able to accommodate his request. In addition, we had the pleasure of meeting Chiho, who went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Chiho (and the rest of the hotel management and staff) helped us find restaurants and make reservations, and even arranged for shuttle service to the restaurants. The hotel also provided a shuttle from Shirahama station and a shuttle to Nanki-Shirahama Airport. One thing to note is that the hotel is still strict with Covid policies (moreso than the other places we stayed in Japan), so be prepared to fill out a questionnaire and wear gloves when dining at the buffets. Infinito is a little out-of-the-way, but is definitely worth the trek.

Key Terrace Hotel Seamore is a really lovely, modern and chic hotel in the south of Wakayama Prefecture. We stayed in a sea view room with Tatatmi area, and booked dinner at one of the two traditional restaurants within the hotel complex. First, the views are wonderful. Taking a relaxing moment at the infinity footbath, or a drink in the beer garden at night are absolute musts to enjoy the sights. You can also visit the underwater observatory, or use the onsen facilities. Some other reviews have mentioned, unfortunately, the place is surrounded by nature, and that means bugs. They're like cockroaches but not. If you're creeped out by things that scuttle, don't go to the outdoor onsen. The hotel is a 15 minute walk to Sandanbeki caves, and a five minute walk to the fisherman's wharf. A short car ride will take you to Adventure World. within the hotel there are lots of facilities for enjoying your night for families or groups of friends. There's also a karaoke room on the 3rd floor (book in advance). Dinner was phenomenal. We had a selection of foods from the region, including freshly caught abalone and a freshly prepared mackerel sashimi (the head of which they turned into a soup for us once the sashimi was gone). The buffet at breakfast has a mix of all Japanese standards and Western styles. There's also the delicious pastries of Tettei bakery inside the hotel if you wanna buy something for the drive back. Would go back and would recommend the hotel to friends who are looking for a great stay in Shirahama.

12/31〜1/2 I spent the year-end and New Year holidays with 6 family members for 2 nights. Meals: Dinner (Japanese kaiseki) Breakfast Buffet Dinner Japanese kaiseki There were many fresh seafood dishes in Wakayama, and I had a very wonderful meal. The chef also came to greet me and it was a consecutive night, so he explained carefully the contents of the meal the next day. I would like to visit again to have this dish. Thank you, chef. Breakfast is a buffet Corona, so I'm a little disappointed that there is no ”handmade Umeboshi rice ball” I was looking forward to! The content of the buffet was almost the same on both days. Is it a common ordinary buffet? Room: Ocean View 1 Room Parking Lot & Two Perfect Ocean View Rooms Three rooms Twin images were uploaded, but the first sunrise from the room was great. The room is large enough. It is undeniable that it is old after a considerable number of years, but the cleaning was also firm. The difficulty is that the washroom, toilet and room bathtub are not renovated or difficult to use in units. Hot spring: Only open-air bath was hot spring. I also had a bath of Bicho charcoal, but the smell of chlorine was strong and I used almost the open-air bath hot spring. Hotel staff 々 I was able to spend the year-end and New Year holidays with my family with a smile and friendly response. However, I couldn't get dinner venue, dinner and breakfast ticket on the second day at check-in. I was a little troubled at dinner on the second day because there was no explanation. I thought it would be nice if there was a little more smile at the front desk.

While it is a 15min walk from town, it is a great cooldown and worth the additional effort. The space is comfortable, spacious, has enough bedding and a nice teapot and some tea for you to make in your room. The WiFi is fantastic and the room even has a fridge. The onsen was perfect after the hike and is high on mineral content to refuel and refresh sore muscles. Room also came with a lengthy extension cord with 6 outlets and a private bathroom. Now the absolute highlight of my stay was the food! The dinner was tasty and abundant. The dashi was my favorite but really everything was delicious. When you book, be sure to add dinner and breakfast. While I left too early before breakfast, they were very accommodating and packed it up for me! Highly recommend.

We stayed here for a night during a 3 day hike, and this hostel style hotel exceeded our expectation. The bento box for dinner was better than expected. The porridge in the morning was great, especially with the extra toppings provided with it. Even the coffee included was much appreciated. We had a private room, and it met all our needs. The onsens were great! 3 are there and never seemed to be busy…I recommend the outside one. Location is also ideal…only a 2 minute walk to the town Onsen. We usually like to stay in 3 star hotels or better seeing we are not hostel type people anymore, but we would stay here again, and I would recommend this place to anyone.

I stayed with my husband and wife on New Year's Eve. I heard it was like a business hotel, but it feels a lot old. I'm going to book a spacious room, but it's still small enough to find a place to put a suitcase. The bath used the inner hot water on the 2 floor, but it was a very good hot spring. Karan is 4 (?) and the dressing room is small, but the quality of the hot springs was very good and I was able to take a bath comfortably. The meal was a Viking with the next green water. I received a lot of New Year dishes. It was delicious. I thought it was cheap and OK here if I just went to sleep in the hot spring.

For a westerner this is a bit of an odd place. Its quite easy to list its deficiencies- there is no bar, no place to sit in the Sun and , I’m afraid to say, we did not find the food vey palatable. Elsewhere in Japan we have steered for the small local restaurants with no English menu - we’ve loved the food but not here. The best you can say about breakfast is that you can construct a bacon butty but as for dinner … well we had pot noodles in our room most nights. A question of taste I guess. Why 5 stars then? Firstly the staff are marvelous- went the extra marathon never mind a mile , simply the best. Secondly our Japanese style room high up above the river was fabulous with awesome views of the river and oodles of space. Even loved the futons. The outside onsen is a great place to chill, if that is the word for a hot spring even if you have to wear an item of clothing which is a cross between a kilt and a loin cloth and does little to cover your modesty. A memorable experience

GGuest UserThe hot springs, cooking and facilities were good, and I was relaxed. I thought I would come again only for meals and hot springs because it was 2 hours and a half by car from my home in Osaka. [Location] Ryujin Onsen itself is a quiet hot spring area in the mountains where there is nothing around, but it is located in front of the Koyasan side and is a little far from the hot spring town where inn and shops are gathered (a few minutes by car). [Facilities] It is not a small inn in the hot spring town, but a large and splendid building, and the lobby and dining room are also wide 々 and relax. The souvenir shop was also substantial and bought a dried cherry blossom overnight with breakfast. [Hot spring] It is the biggest attraction point. The open-air bath that enters while listening to the river and the sound of the cherry blossoms was the best. The appearance and the feeling that entered are sarcastic, but when I touch my body with my hand, the hot water is ”wet” and it is tangled with the skin. [Meal] The dinner buffet was not just like heating the things that were common in a large hotel, but it was very delicious with handmade ingredients that made use of local ingredients. The most impressive was the fresh and delicious salty cherry blossoms and the large shiitake mushroom tempura. It was a plan with a Kumano beef pottery plate of 2200 yen plus, but this is also a great product, and I think the value of 2200 yen is sufficient. The sake (I had a light dry ”Kumano Sanzan”) was great and the price was conscientious. The staff such as the front desk dining room and the telephone response in advance were perfect.

FFrenchwriterKumano: Save yourself this at the end of the kumano kodo. I have rarely counted so many negative points, especially in Japan where most of the time the establishments have a level of service unrivaled in the world (from 1 to 5 stars) 1. the upstream discussions were complicated, too directive. 2. On arrival the man of the house shakes hands with my companion but not with me (this immediately puts you at ease) 3. At the end of a 30 km hike we were hoping for an onsen or a hot bath , otherwise the owner rushes us to eat because the meal was planned (by him)! at a certain time. He knew that we had walked a lot and could have adapted a little, especially since this region is popular for hiking. We had not been warned of the dinner time but we had been informed of the progress of our trekking as it progressed, so no surprises. 4. Homemade meal okay but 65 euros per person is way too much and three thin slices of wagyu beef do not justify doubling the price of the simple menu. 5. During the meal, the owner only spoke to the next table. Great for feeling good. 6. No soundproofing, we suffered from the conversations of our indelicate neighbor until midnight. I had to go and ask him to do his videoconference elsewhere. 7. “We booked for a deluge triple room with sea view, we ended up with a room with a view of the parking lot! 8. Out of all the establishments we visited, this is the first time that there is no bottle of water in the room! 9. No curtain or shutters. 10. Wake up at 4:30 a.m. to a concerto of roosters (and turkeys) crowing. I have no problem with nature but frankly I don't want to be next to a barnyard when I'm doing a demanding trail and sleep is a decisive issue. I would have at least liked to have been warned of this in the hotel presentation sheet. 11. Being in the heart of the mountains and having no view is really a very negative point. Especially when you open the sliding walls and come across a stock of tables! 12. Shuttle to the hotel and to the station 20 euros. The main access road was closed by a landslide (which we were only warned about yesterday!) but it is we who are suffering the consequences. We have stayed in around 30 establishments in Japan but this is the first time we have been charged for a shuttle. Kumano Kodo is a beautiful region and I am very sad to end my stay on this negative note. Positive mention all the same: the owner's wife, extraordinarily kind and really very efficient. It would be better if she was the one serving rather than putting her to do the dishes!

Excellent stay after Kumano Kodo hiking. Futon very comfortable. They helped in transporting lugages to room. Excellent, plenty, very tasty dinner, also breakfast. I forgot a fleece jacket, they contacted our travel agent in Athens to find me, they sent it next day to my Osaka hotel (with very reasonable courier cost). Fleece was nicely packed with a complimentary card included. Thank you for hospitality, very friendly personnel.

CCEL_LI was about to give bad reviews due to some poor check-in experience, but everything after check in is so good that compensates this journey. First, the check-in process that brings me with bad experience: it is self-served and there is no any staff. By rights you should receive an instruction email with check-in PIN in advance, which I heard from other guests. However, I didn’t receive anything but Trip’s confirmation letter and I was unable to check in. And my sim card in Japan is just an internet card unable to make phone calls, which means I have no way to contact the hotel directly. My partner and I were desperately locked out of the hotel in the evening, after 7h hiking, with no other available hotel in the mountain. After waiting for over 1 hour, other guests helped us to enter the admin room where there is an ipad to call the hotel (why not make it available to guests without checking in?), and with the help of Trip’s agency, we finally checked in successfully. Then here is the staying experience: so good that makes me almost forgive the poor check-in experience. Each room is a spacious individual house and ours has a garden for BBQ. The food is also self-served, with the cooking stuffs and ingredients in the fridge. It was unexpected that you need to cook yourself (I don’t think it was listed on room info when I booked it), but it’s not bad that Wagyu, chicken, and vegetables are served. The rooms are big and cozy, and you can do the laundry after hiking. Everything is good about the hotel itself, just be aware of the self-checkin process and make sure you get the instructions before that.

MManaMana999I want to go around Kumano Sanzan without a car, and when I plan to travel to Kumano Kodo for a little, there is a transfer from JR Shirahama station, and I know this inn that I will pick up and drop off to Kumano Kodo for free I decided to stay. I was very helpful because I was worried about the bad access of Kumano Hongu Taisha shrine and how to get a small number of public buses. It was more than expected, but multiple family baths that were put without reservation. I was surprised by the luxury size. This inn often introduces a photograph of a large open-air bath, but I also entered once, but if you are a guest, the family bath is definitely recommended. However, the hot water is hot, so it may be severe in summer? The room should not expect luxury. There is an old but clean, so there is no complaint. The impression that the meal is usually delicious if you take the inn. I had a drink at night, but it was very cheap (it was twice the price at the inn the next day)
