"I realize that different people have different opinions to the same experiences. I found the room to be very clean and the breakfast to be good. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get into my room when I arrived. There were lots of people in the lobby who were waiting for rooms to be cleaned. All in all, I had a pleasant stay at the hotel."
"Really handy for TPA having arrived from the UK. Rooms are a decent size, however the sofa bed was not made up when we went to our room. Disappointingly when we went down to reception to mention this we were told that we would have to make the bed up ourselves. Never in all of our travels have we ever been told such a rediculous thing. We we challenged this again, the reception staff finally relented and sent housekeeping to make up the bed."

"This hotel is great for it's proximity to Tampa airport. The shuttle service is free and easy to find within the airport too.
We arrived later in the evening and I think a few things had been going on in the hotel (or with guests) as the reception staff were a little preoccupied and not as friendly as we'd expected, but it was fine, we got into our room which was a good size, clean and we had a view of Tampa airport runways. We could hear the odd plane take off / land, but the sound did not bother us. The weather had dropped and wasn't great the weekend we stayed so we didn't get a chance to try out the small pool.
World of Beer is next door (walking) - this was great to go to for a burger in the evening as it didn't look like the hotel did food other than breakfast.
Breakfast was buffet style with a few hot items (they were lukewarm) which changed over the couple of days we were there. The waffles were great! The only downside to breakfast was that it was paper plates and plastic cutlery, but the food itself was nice. The coffee pots were available all the time in the hotel, not just at breakfast - this was great to grab a quick fix anytime.
If I needed a hotel for the airport I would stay here again or if I had access to a car, but we did not have a car, and Lyft / Uber's in and out of downtown Tampa could become expensive if you did that a couple of times a day.
We stayed here before getting on our Carnival Cruise from Channelside, Tampa. If we came again to cruise, I'd probably pay the extra and stay in downtown to be closer, but if we had a car to travel around, I'd definitely stay at the Hampton Inn, Avion Park as it was in a great location to tour from."

"The staff was not very good when packing the hotel breakfast in the morning. I repeatedly swiped the card and said that I was decline. In fact, there was no problem with the subsequent payment today, which was the problem of the hotel swiping the card machine. Also said that I packed too much, 18 knives a piece? Just take you to order bread, okay?"
"Beautiful room great service and the view was gorgeous. The elevator went down a few times but they worked to get it back running. Also I think because it’s two hotels in one they should have the sam amenities it confuses your guest. Other than that I had a wonderful stay
"

Very Good
GGuest UserThe hotel is nice and clean, and coffee tea are available all day in the lobby, nice breakfast, very good location as we are visiting our kid in USF which is within walking distance. My only 2 complaints are that the pillows were very flat, and the parking cost $10 per day. We didn't read the fine print/policy, assuming it's free. We didn't need to park as my kid's car is parked in school campus across the street. We would have omitted the parking permit if we had known it cost extra. Next time, we will not get the parking permit.
FFineganThe hotel is a little confusing to get into as far as parking wise. Amenities are fair. The room was clean.
One drawback I can mention, is the hotel is located right on the train tracks. You can hear the train running all throughout the night. The train runs the horn so be prepared if you plan on staying here, to hear the train.
A second drawback was the thermostat in the room. Yes the thermostat. Why? The one in our room literally illuminated the entire room. It was as bright as a blue fire. I am sure like many of us adults like to sleep in the dark. No this literally was shining so bright you could read a book by the light. I would recommend to dim them for the customers prior to entering the room.
Oh we also had some noisemakers in our room next door. Had to call downstairs to let them know that it was time for rest.
This hotel is located in a party town. So assuming you like to party, it would be good for you.
GGuest UserI chose this Marriott because of the indoor/outdoor pool area! Perfect because it was pouring rain when I arrived and I really wanted to go swimming. The front desk was super friendly and helpful. The free shuttle was convenient and the driver was funny and talkative. I got the business concierge balcony room. Big tv and nice balcony. Used the concierge lounge for breakfast. It was convenient and the food was decent. The on-site restaurant was a little expensive and the food was just OK but the cocktails were great! My stay was perfect for a pre-cruise night.
CClarissaWe stopped and stayed here after a trip we were on was extended a day and we had an early flight to catch. Check in was quick and easy. The beds were comfortable and the location was great as it was minutes to the airport, which was great with a 6 am flight with 3 kids and 7 people total. Our only complaint was the laundromat services were only available until 9. We spent the day at the beach and just planned to wash and pack our beach things once we had come back from dinner. Once we got back from dinner the hotel laundromat was about to close. There was a coin mat about mins up the road , so it wasnt the hugest inconvenience, but it would have been nice to have the on site laundromat available 24 hours or even until midnight. We travel for sports a lot and this is the first time we have encountered this.
GGuest UserI stayed at the Tampa Airport Marriott just for the convenience of traveling, but I didn't expect such a big surprise. The room facilities are good and clean. It is connected to the terminal. You can walk to the terminal with your luggage for a while. Shopping is also very convenient. The breakfast downstairs is really delicious😋
PPretti_Brown_Eyes83The hotel staff is amazing!! They’re so kind and so helpful. The location is good but the hotel lacks many amenities. However the customer service you receive makes up for it!
DDr RobertMy review is intended as constructive feedback and should be taken that way.
Check-in was a bit of a hassle, but once we got over a speed bump, everything was fine. I won't go into what happened exactly, but please NOTE: they do NOT accept cash for the deposit or payment. You must have a credit card.. Make sure your card works... and they don't seem to accept Union Pay cards. There isn't any drinkable water in the room, but there is a convenience store two buildings away - super convenient.
The rooms are clean. But, everything is old. The furniture could be quickly restored with some varnish to the furniture, and rustic rugs tossed on the wooden floors. They should consider adding their own line of soaps and hair care products for an element of care and elegance. It'd be nice to have a couple of complimentary bottles of water, as well.
The free shuttle from the airport - go to blue baggage claim and go out one of the blue entry/exit points; either 1 or 2 - at the far ends of the baggage claim corridor. Look for a ”Veterans Limo” van. They come regularly. Just tell the driver where you're going.
Breakfast is great if you love carbs. Unfortunately, no proteins were served. I recommend just adding some scrambled or hard-boiled eggs or turkey bacon and cheeses. You should add more varieties of bagels and bread, as well - especially if you're going to stay carb-centric. Raisin bagels would've been nice.
Thanks for the waffles. Neat, but I would prefer an omlette station.
Overall, I will probably not stay here again, but only because there are so many other options to choose from.
Oh... No offense, but the front desk staff could use some training in customer service and customer care. A couple of them seem to be tired of guests and refer to guests as ”them” and ”they” with a tone of contempt. The staff seems to be falling into a horrible customer care death spiral of ”us” vs. ”them” and seeing ”them” as ”stupid.” Maybe have just a workshop to help staff reaffirm their commitment to the hospitality industry.
Competition won't go away, but customers will.
GGuest UserThe hotel has been great so far and me and my girlfriend have had a great time. great location and great staff. will definitely recommend and stay again.
SShannon StuderI made it to the “Holiday Inn” or where I thought I was booked at. The website needs to be updated because it is not a Holiday Inn, it is a Red Roof Plus. But either way, my stay was fine all around. The rooms were very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable! Staff was all helpful and friendly as well.
