The staff is exceptionally kind and attentive. The lodge provides great facilities and clean, spacious rooms with stunning jungle views. No bugs and ample amenities contribute to an excellent rainforest experience.

What an incredible experience! Our guide, JC, was truly exceptional — his deep knowledge of birdwatching and his positive energy made our stay unforgettable. We felt complete trust in him throughout, and he always went the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable and at ease. The same warmth and dedication were reflected in all the guides at the lodge, which made our 4 days at Refugio Lodge even more special. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this trip so memorable. Warm regards, Romain & Jemma

Stunning. Be one with nature. I have no words…what a beautiful wild place Refugio Amazonas is and the entire staff there are such wonderful people. Absolutely delicious food. We are vegetarians and had plenty of options. I was there with my 7 yo and our guide was Timo, incredibly knowledgeable and with such a keen eye for wild life. Where I saw leaves, he spotted the sloth, just one example. I am extremely grateful for your service, Timo. The scientific night talks are very informative and gave us an understanding of the importance of the work these people are doing. There is an outdoor playground for kids and covered area for different activities, in case of rain. My son built a jaguar puzzle. We did have a frog and a stick insect as visitors in the room. Very entertaining as we’ve only seen a stick insect in cartoons and documentaries This was the highlight of our trip and I hope I will have a chance to return one day.

Beautiful lodge with great food , attentive and friendly staff. Everything is as advertised but at least for me took some getting used to- there is no air conditioning so you can feel extremely hot after an activity which typically will involve walking in the jungle , the mosquito net at night can make things a bit stuffy and you have to be at ease with bugs, insects and frogs which will make their appearances in various parts of the room as the room is really open for cross ventilation purposes( more than just one wall not being there). It is eco tourism at its finest but you have to commit yourself to it fully to enjoy the experience

WOW WOW WOW. We can not speak highly enough of the entire experience The people were incredibly friendly, from the bar staff to the guide everybody was really nice and had a focus on our experience. Eddy our guide was just amazing and provided animal encounters that we couldn't have dreamed off, monkeys, spiders, macaws, toucans, caterpillars, piranhas the list goes on. The lodge and accomodation were clean and welll stocked, definetly a 5 star feel.

Great tours, great guides, great food, great accommodation. The Pisco Sours weren't bad either. Highly recomended. Our guide was Juan Carlos Yato whose knowledge of the surroundings was exceptional.

We had a great time at Refugio. The pick up from the airport to the office and then to the lodge was very smooth, and even though it was long it didn’t feel like it as there were VCR intros on the bus to watch as well as animals to see on the boat. The food at the lodge was great, and the activities as well - the Macaw claylick is something you should experience once in your life! The room was spacious and the mosquito nets are done correctly for you every night. We had a few visitors like frogs and big moths as there are no windows - but you do feel really connected to nature here! That connection was one of the best parts of this experience as everything was very sustainably sourced and raw. My favourite part of the trip was becoming great friends with the people in our group.

Our family of 4 (2 kids, ages 11 and 12) spent 3 nights and 4 days in this beautiful rainforest lodge. Our guide, Emperatrice, was knowledgeable, ensured our kids saw so many birds and animals, and demonstrated kindness and care throughout our visit. She is amazing! The lodge is outstanding and the staff go above and beyond to provide a comfortable stay. The open wall in the bedroom sounds daunting, but was actually a great way to immerse ourselves in the environment. The lodge’s chefs are excellent and ensured a safe dining experience for our family member with a peanut allergy. The activities were amazing - we participated in research activities, night hikes, saw a macaw salt lick, took a boat ride, viewed the forest from a canopy tower and more! Thank you Refugio Amazonas for a memorable adventure!

Amazing few days with great accommodation, good food/drink and most importantly highly knowledgeable guide, Juan Carlos. He taught us so much about the rainforest, flora and fauna and about the local people as well as the scientists doing research here.
