Mother Earth Luxury Boutique Hotel, Restaurant & Spa

My husband and I stayed here for my birthday trip to Costa Rica. Upon arrival, we were greeted and checked in immediately by one of the staff members. They decorated the room for my birthday and gave me a handwritten card. We met the owner, Karen, and she gave us a tour of the entire hotel. The food was immaculate! We ate at the hotel most of the time, and there wasn’t a single dish we didn’t enjoy. My absolute favorites were the Beyond Burger and the pecan pie. Everything was delicious. The service was lovely. We will definitely be back when Karen starts hosting her vegan cooking classes.

My wife and I have been going to the hotel for meals for a while now. Mama Aya is the absolute best, always super accommodating and has the best vibe. The food is insanely delicious. Doesn’t matter what you pick on the menu, it’s gonna be tasty and super healthy. Awesome place, defo recommend!

Mother Earth was the best hotel we ever experienced! Staff: exceptional; the best customer service we had. From the bartender always checking in to see if we wanted some infused water to the front desk helping us coordinate excursions, the service was top-notch. Food & drinks: delicious; my favorite dish was the Philly Cheese sandwich, followed by eggplant Calamari. Setting: beautiful; we loved our room and balcony, as well as the lovely saltwater pool next to the bar and restaurant: only a 20-minute walk to the beach, which added a welcome sense of quiet to returning to the hotel. Unexpected bonuses: we met the owner and her 2 dogs on multiple occasions and she was incredibly gracious and lovely to talk to; the hotel had 5 cats living on the property, which was super fun; we saw a family of monkeys near the hotel.

We didn’t stay at the hotel. This was a luxury dinner experience poolside in a quiet environment. The menu was so extensive - we wanted to eat everything- but we’re only 4 people so had to settle for the amazing red lasagna, pear pizza, tacos and burger. Dessert was an equally delicious pecan pie with vanilla ice cream. The owner Aya was so friendly and nice. When reserving we mentioned it was our 25th anniversary trip - and it couldn’t have been a nicer experience.

The staff here is incredible! They remember you and why your visiting and they are always ready to help. We went for our honeymoon and were treated like we were the only guests there! Highly recommend this resort to couples and families. I can’t say enough about how amazing they made our experience!

My daughter and I stayed at Mother Earth last week for three nights. We had been hiking and in a bus all day before checking in. So, we were a bit embarrassed by our appearance. We probably looked like The Beverly Hillbillies in such a fancy establishment. Nonetheless, Stephanie greeted us warmly, and reassured us. From the first welcome drink, brought to our room by a smiling, sweet man named José, to the last wave goodbye from Stephanie, we were treated like family. Karen, the owner, made sure to greet us every night at dinner. She was very warm and kind. The whole staff made us feel very special. Now, let’s talk about the incredible food! It would take a week to work through their amazing menu. Every meal we had was out-of-this-world delicious! I can’t think of any meals in my life that were better than what we ate at Mother Earth. The portions are large, too, Not the petite, artsy, portions common in other high-end vegan restaurants. The pasta is homemade, and seems to melt in your mouth. I’m still thinking about that pesto pasta! The tacos, Philly cheesesteak, and lasagna were all very delicious. The included breakfasts were wonderful! We even ate at the Mother Earth food truck on the beach. The chili dog was outstanding, and large! I cannot overstate how delicious the food is. But, it’s the kindness of the staff that I will also never forget. Thank you Stephanie for arranging a fabulous nature boat tour for us. And, for not judging us when we came in covered in dirt from our ATV excursions. Thank you Jose great service and friendly smile. Thank you Juan for great breakfast service, and good conversations and laughs. Thank you Karen for making us feel welcome, and special. Ps. The massage therapist is amazing, as well. Great pressure!
