My stay at Pura Vida Hostel was a nightmare. The facilities were poorly maintained: dirty rooms, cold showers, and an unpleasant smell. To make matters worse, the staff was rude—Erika, the manager, was confrontational, and the owner made everyone uncomfortable.

Terrible! Pura Vida Hostel should not even be open. Everything was dirty, with insects in the rooms and freezing cold water. The worst part was the staff. The manager, Erika, and the owner were rude and disrespectful. I felt unsafe the entire time.

Mats was a great host full of handy recommendations for shopping and sight seeing with easy beach access just a short walk away. The hostel it’s self was charming and clean. A great spot with dorms and private rooms, as well as some of the best rates in Tamarindo. I highly recommend. Pura Vida!

This is a wonderful hostel, filled with beautiful art and lovely people, the owner max was extremely helpful and I felt completely at home. Has the most insane shared space with a huge cone like structure that sets the vibe immaculately, close to literally everything in town and there is a shop a 2 minute walk away, spent a whole day just chilling out here it’s so nice!!

This is a hostel close to the center of Tamarindo. It has a nice chill area and a good pool. The rooms are simplistic, nut fine. The people working here are very friendly. This was a good stay for a night (although we were not a fan of Tamarindo).

We are so lucky to have chosen pura vida hostel for our stay in tamarindo! The place is really nice, confortable and well situated. The owner is kind, funny, and help us a lot. The design in the room are beautifull and the bed really confortable. I really recomend this hostel if you want to enjoy your stay in tamarindo!! Pura vida mae!

This place is a scum. We stayed in January and we were charged twice twice once by ******* and manager of the hostel. We just found we still yet to be refunded . Place is very very dirty with zero atmosphere. Atmosphere is very weird and owner and his local friends that were building place constantly smoke in there. We did not felt safe at all. Place is overpriced and definitely there is much better options in town for much less money. We left after first night and found much better place.

This place is very weird and very dirty, they accept only cash and cant make official receipt for payment . We were double charged and still waiting for refund. The rooms are very dirty not to mention bathrooms. If you can avoid this place.

El hostel en general es muy malo. Las habitaciones son pequeñas y sucias, con muebles viejos y rotos. El personal es poco amable y no parece interesado en ayudar. La ubicación tampoco es buena, ya que está lejos de todo lo que necesitas. No lo recomiendo.
