JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort Suites

Our trip to JW Marriott Khao Lak was amazing. the rooms, the swimming pools, the beach, the service were top notch. easy to reach from Phuket airport (1.30h by car), it's an oasis of happiness, where kids can run free and parents don't feel guilty to disturb other guests (because there are Adults' only areas). SPECIAL MENTION to the RESTAURANTS. we have been always eating in the resort (although there are some local options on the beach beside the hotel), and we were stunned by the quality / variety and consistency of the good food we had. Indian, Thai, Japanese and an Italian that reminded me of Home. We will come back for sure. BRAVI!

What makes a relaxing getaway coupled with a successful business is the professional staff at the resort. JW Marriott at Khao Lak has the professional, multilingual staff on board to help make your getaway experience as relaxing and comfortable as possible. From Khun Apple at the front desk during check in or Khun Oum at the check out desk, they provided such excellent, quality service making my family feel appreciated. All the service staff helped play with my 2 year old son, which made me feel like children are also appreciated at this resort. We loved P’Apple who showed us the farm and took the time to explain the company’s plan creating an ecotourism experience for guests. The facilities were immaculate! The rooms are dry and well-built despite the high humidity. The pool is well kept and ver my fun to swim around the property. I know this isn’t a company specific issue, but the amount of trash that washed up on the beach and left there was an eye sore. I wanted to play in the sand and water but the amount of foam, fishing wire, and plastic was so concerning. I get that this is a greater ecosystem issue as opposed to JW’s issue. Lastly, enjoy the sunset on this property. It’s so tranquil.

So first the positives: We had a swim up room and it was gorgeous. The staff are beyond friendly (as they are throughout Thailand). The food is great, but not cheap (nor the drinks). There are small beach cafes to the left of the hotel and the food there was amazing and very cheap. There's also a small shop just outside the entrance if you want to buy drinks or snacks. But, it's a huge hotel, very busy with little Thai character. Not great for couples as lots of kids. When we were there, a large wedding was taking place (which I think happens a lot) and the other guests were majorly disrupted to accommodate this (main sunbathing area reduced by half, restaurant areas closed off and like a building site as the wedding area was being created). The event lasts 4 days so not great. Overall we had a great holiday but will try another, quieter hotel on our next trip to Thailand.
