"We (family of 5) stayed in the family room as we had an early flight from Stansted in the morning. We emailed Julie with our arrival time and she had everything prepared for us including an additional camping bed in the room. We were greeted warmly and showed around our and the breakfast room. Julie even went as far to place boy/girl napkins on the table for us which was very sweet. The room itself was lovely - large enough for 5 of us and our luggage. Beds were comfy and we had good hot water and biscuits/hot drinks. The location is perfect for Stansted, it took us less than ten minutes to get to the Mid Stay car park but note that if you're in the Long Stay it's a longer journey. Another advantage is that they will let you park your car on-site for a small fee, and you can then taxi to and from the airport which is only a few minutes (we will definitely do this next time as it's considerably cheaper than the airport car parks). Breakfast was amazing - since we left early we weren't that hungry but they had a huge variety of cereals, bread/crumpets, yoghurts, drinks, cereal bars, cheese, fruit ... the list goes on. Price was also very affordable especially for larger families as we could book a single room vs. having to book two (most places are max. occupancy of four). Many thanks and hope to see you soon!"

"Not Worth It, Even for the Price If you’re only looking for a cheap place to sleep, the price might seem reasonable — but I did not enjoy my stay. The room looked like the photos, but there was an unpleasant, old smell and a lot of dust. It felt very basic and not well-maintained. Unfortunately, I didn’t check the mattress before settling in. I spent the whole night scratching and later noticed stains on it. One of the pillows I didn’t even use had body hair on it and looks like a bug?! Honestly, it was awful — and still felt overpriced for what you get. The room didn’t have a fridge or mini bar, which made it even less convenient for a short stay. Parking was an extra £14 per night. Breakfast was very basic. It’s nice that you can take it to go, but it’s mostly sugary snacks like muffins, muesli, croissants, and jam on bread. For the same money, you could get a better breakfast at the airport and actually feel full."

"Located a short ride away from the terminal, the hotel is perfect for a comfortable night's sleep. There is a shuttle bus from/to the airport and costs £4 per journey."

"Great Lodge is close to the airport (58 mins walking or 14 mins by bus). I wanted a place in nature, and I was served : multiple public footpaths and hiking trail (see picture). The room was clean, spacious and warm. Didn't have soap or conditioner as mentioned, but I didn't need them since I had mine. Check-in and check-out were easy (a person was at the front desk). Thank you"

"Checking in was easy and the man was so nice. Room was ideal, requested a runway view and that definitely ticked that box. Breakfast had plenty of options, cold salad, ham and cheese, hot scrambled egg, bacon, sausages (standard and vegetarian), hash browns, beans, cereals, seeds, yogurt, a couple Danishes and then there was 'make your own' waffles (just like in the States)"

"To be honest, apart from the fact it was so close to the terminal for a 4am start, it was disappointing. Long queue to check in although staff were polite and welcoming, I had to climb over a pizza box, dirty cup and wine glass dumped outside my door and when I entered the room I wasn't wholly convinced it had been cleaned properly. Also, pet peeve, no biscuits! However, on the plus side it was quiet and check out was quick."

"Really good service all the time from checkin to checkout. Restaurant has a good variety for evening meals. There is shuttle bus which is £4 one way to and from the airport. Buffet breakfast has great options too. Perfect if flying in and out of Stansted."
