Our stay was warm and friendly. Haruka went far beyond meeting our needs with her thoughtfulness, kindness and generosity. She is a fine representative of this compassionate culture. We would be happy to return to this ryokan just to see her again. And yes , the Osen was fabulous.

The service was spectacular. They greet you and ease you into the Ryuken experience with charm and attention to details. The room was great, the hotel was pleasant, the staff were amazing from start to finish. Always looking for ways to make our stay more pleasant.

Fabulous stay at Iroriyado Hidaya a traditional Japanese Ryokan. This was our forst experience staying at a traditional Japanese inn. The hostess was terrific explaining how all aspects of our stay would work. The futons were super comfortable to sleep on and it has a terrific bath house. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel.

Wonderful hospitality at this ryokan. We wanted a traditional stay with futons (though I was hesitant because sleeping on essentially the floor is not my idea of a good time) but it really wasn’t terrible. Everyone we encountered who was working was so friendly and helpful. The first night we were offered a beer for our group and they put together our bed while we spent time in the onsen. The onsen was warm but relaxing, and upstairs from where our room was located. The difficult part for me as a person who really doesn’t want to sit on the floor was that we had no seat that wasn’t on the ground (I’m a big, tall girl and the ground is so far down). They had a lovely sitting room where we could be on couches in the common area. They had a variety of snacks they offered us to try and our second night, they were so nice to share with us what they were. The lines of communication were open courtesy of Google translate, so we could have conversations with each other despite not speaking the same language.

You can also enjoy a traditional japanese dressing experience at no cost. A highlight of our stay was the exceptional evenning snack experience. The fresh caught fish cooked in a coal stove was an absolute treat for the senses. The flavors were unlike anything we had ever tasted before, and the skillful preparation was a testament to the culinary expertise of the staff. In addition, we found ourselves sipping on the complimentary green tea, which added a refreshing touch to our day. The gesture truly made us feel at home. And how could I forget the onsen? The soothing thermal baths provided a moment of relaxation like no other. The serene atmosphere combined with the therapeutic properties of the hot spring water was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploration. Excellent ryokan, with multiple details. In a quiet area away from the tourist center. The hot spring baths took away the tiredness of Tokyo and Osaka. As there were no taxis available at dawn the next day, they took us to the bus station with a private vehicle driven by an employee of the establishment and at no cost: "...they come to visit us from so far away, it's the least we can do " (words of the owner).

È stata una esperienza magnifica, il posto è veramente stupendo, sembra di essere catapultati nel mondo degli anime dove i nostri personaggi preferiti vivevano le loro vite. Il posto è curato e pulitissimo, ci hanno accolto in modo spontaneo e gentilissimo, parlano benissimo inglese e ci hanno accolto spiegandoci tutto quello che possiamo trovare a Takayama, dai negozi ai ristoranti e i posti da visitare. È possibile noleggiare gratuitamente dei stupendi Yukata direttamente qui, ci hanno gentilmente aiutato a indossarli e li abbiamo tenuti per cena. È possibile utilizzare una vera Onsen all’interno della struttura fino a tardi, anche se hai dei tatuaggi. Infine è possibile fare la colazione tradizionale giapponese e noi ne siamo stati più che lieti, abbiamo assaggiato tantissimi piatti, alcuni anche cotti di fronte a noi sul momento. Ringraziamo di cuore dell’ospitalità e la cordialità. Torneremo sicuramente, è un posto che ci rimarrà nel cuore.

Ryokan con onsen tattoo friendly. Pochissime camere molto grandi, personale gentilissimo oltre ogni aspettativa; offrono la possibilità di affitto gratuito per la sera di Kimono e/o yukata. Colazione eccezionale. Raggiungibile a piedi dalla stazione ma se si hanno valige grandi meglio un taxi ( circa 7€).
