Top class service with amazing food! Only downside was the rooms were on the older side but I think most hotels in takayama are old. Asking anyone, this is probably considered the best Ryokan in town.

The staff is very nice and the room is big. We drive and it is convenient. However it’s far a bit from station if you take train. The food is very delicious! WiFi is a bit weak. Price is high but reasonable.

I personally think it is the best hotel in Takayama, with an excellent location and easy access to everything. It is very quiet especially in the morning and evening when the tourists are gone.
It is an old hotel but has been renovated in recent years. I booked a room that combines Japanese and Western styles. I experienced it. The check-in process is quite grand and complicated. There is a Chinese waiter who is helpful for communication. The other people I met are not very good at English.
You can experience multiple hot springs and kimonos, which is interesting. The breakfast is rich with many choices, and the dinner is grand.
